We were on the Elation about 3 years ago when she was on the west coast, there are pics in my signature.

I sailed on the Elation on a New Years Cruise into 2007. Here are some basic pictures... (sorry they're so big)

PC312283.jpg

The lido deck is laid out a bit different than the rest of the newer ships... as you can see.

And if you'll excuse the mess, you can see that the rooms are laid out a bit differently too if you choose the two twins instead of the king. (We stayed in room E78)

PC282215.jpg

(If I remember correctly, the shower was to the left)

and the main atrium all decked out for the holidays...

Those are the main pictures I could find from my vacation that had parts of the ships that were different than the other ships I've been on (mostly Conquest class).

Hope these were helpful. =]

Our favorite ship. Probably Carnivals classiest ship. But we also liked that she sailed from San Diego (easiest embarkations ever) and spent major time in Cabo. We miss those short cruises from SD.

We'll be sailing on the 17th, and will be tweeting pics and stuff live from the ship. Follow hashtag #NOLACruize or @cruizecast

Wife and I sailed twice on the Elation. Once out of Mobile and three weeks ago out of New Orleans. Here are some video's from that cruise. http://s1086.photobucket.com/albums/j451/dwillis0824/

Love your pictures! We were on Elation in Sept, 2011 as well, but it wasn't the same cruise as you. The ships in Cozumel gave that one away.;) These should give the OP a good idea about the ship and look about the same as the ones I have. Was going to upload some of my pics, but that was taking forever. I do have some on my FB. Thanks for sharing.

Elation usually does short cruises, which is probably why it doesn't get talked about as much. I sailed her at Christmastime 2005, and although things have changed, I still loved the ship and her staff. It's still my favorite of all my short cruises.

Would love to see your pictures or video's when you get them together. Our cruise was shortened in September by Tropical storm Lee, so we thought we would try again, we had a great time on both cruises.

I can post more later if anyone is interested :D

I'd love to see more pictures!

We're going on the Elation in June. I booked 2 porthole cabins and the booking confirmations are currently sitting under the Christmas tree for Mom, Dad and sissy to unwrap. It'll be my parents first cruise and I can't wait to see the look on Mom's face when she unwraps her present. I am SOOOO gonna beat Santa in the present department this year :D

I did a review about a year ago if you are interested.

Nice pictures and review :)

It is funny that all of us who posted pics on here traveled while the ship was decorated for Christmas :D

We did that tour with the church and tequila factory last year on the Triumph the same week....loved the church!

Ports for the Elation:

Progresso

Progresso looks so basic or is it just from the angle on the shot? And I also love the holiday pictures; I really want to see a ship all decorated in Christmas decorations

You have to take a bus ride down the long pier to reach Progresso....it is not as commercialized as Cozumel. This time we actually just got off the ship and shopped at those little shops right at the port.

We have been to Progresso several times. A few times we just went on shore and shopped and ate at a beachfront restaurant. Once we did one of the Carnival excursions...."Horse show, mexican buffet and the Ruins".

A lot of people don't like this port...but we do, it feels more "untouched" than the other ports that we have been to.

Also, they have cheap massages set up right on the beach.

Seems like a great port, I have yet to even see the Western side of the Caribbean :(

What GREAT photos! And I MUST know what that chocolate drink is!

Naomi John - I did read your review - it was fantastic and seeing the Fun Times was wonderful.

Sissy and I really liked Progresso when we were there in June on the Triumph. Definitely feels less commercialized than Cozumel and many of the other ports. Unfortunately, Dad has some mobility issues (1 replaced knee, the other needs to be replaced, and he needs to have surgery on his ankle) so I don't think we'll be going to any of the ruins this time around. Oh well, sitting on the beach with a margarita is certainly no hardship!

Cozumel anymore it feels like you have to walk through an entire shopping mall to get off the pier, but laying on the beach and snorkeling all day at Chankanaab is worth it :-)

The drink.... I believe..... was the "Mocha Chocolate Getaway"....on the back page of the drink menu :D

@ cathyz - Very cool approach to posting pics!

We are sailing on the Elation in 8 days for Christmas. I will also have plenty of pictures and an in-depth, unbiased review as well.

The family is so excited!

Thanks everyone for all the pictures and info! My best friend for more than 35 years and myself will be doing 2 short cruises (B2B) in June 2012. Our husbands don't care for cruising so we cruise about every 2 or 3 years without them. We have so much fun!:) Keep the pictures and reviews coming!!!
