Just back from the Diamond 4/2/05-4/09/05

Wow, what a great week. The only thing that went wrong is the ship had problems with its engine and we arrived home later than expected. I loved sleeping in until noon and being fed lots of food. Yum. I feel sorry with those with flights. Luckily we drove there.

Any way, service was great, food was wonderful. Lots of well-behaved children. They took over the pool, but we didn't mind. We just found other things to do instead.

Can't wait to go back in October. :D

We were on the ship with you. We agree it was our best cruise ever as well. The crew was all very friendly, the weather was great...we drove as well, so getting off the ship at 5pm meant almost a whole extra day of cruising! Breakfast and lunch, snacks, playing cards, watching TV while waiting to get off...I felt sorry for the ones that had to wait to board though. Customs went quickly and smoothly, bettet than I was led to believe. The food was great, and great presentation in the formal dining rooms, the ship was spotless, and I dont think we ever waited in any lines for anything. Even won a couple of trivia contests and a Name that Tune contest. And it was fun meeting a celebrity on board (Jared, the Subway Sandwich guy)...he was up in the disco most every night with his wife. The comedians were pretty good as well.

I know, it was great having an extra day, wasn't it? There was some guy debarking who was just having a fit. Cursing and everything. Stuff happens. Get over it!

I spoke with someone embarking for the next cruise and they said they were informed not to arrive until 6:00. They seemed to understand that stuff happens. :)

We were also on this cruise and had a great time. The weather on Sunday was a little cloudy and cool. Friday was the same. Friday night and Saturday morning the seas were rough (7.5 to 12 feet). When the first late arrival announcement was made on Friday we thought we would be okay with 3:15PM flights. Once the log arrived at the cabin and said 1:00PM Saturday arrival, we knew we had a problem. I was on the phone close to an hour Saturday morning with Delta trying to get seats back to Louisville. We ended up taking separate flights. Our color was called (red 3) at about 3:30. I plan to submit the ticket change costs to Princess and see what happens. There were not many seats available out of LAX. On my flight to Atlanta there were 68 standby's. On my wife's flight to Cincinnati there were 34 standby's.

Don't believe the prerecorded ship navigation log on the cabin tv. It said we had arrived in LA at Saturday at 7:00AM. This was at 9:00AM and we were still several hours out. The ship location even said we were in LA. This part of the log must not be realtime. I would think it would be easy to realtime positioning.

I am surprised they didn't take the opportunity to schedule another art auction  . They did schedule some other basic activities for Saturday morning.

Princess handled the delay with class except it would have been nice to know a little more about the technical problem. Now if they cover the flight change charges, that will be great. They apparently took care of those passengers that had Princess arranged flights.

We were on the cruise, too. We had a great time, with the exception of the glitch at the end. Our best cruise, ever, we think. We loved the Mexican Riviera. The guys went on the canopy tour and loved it, the girls had the best massage ever at the Krystal Hotel. (I made internet reservations the week before) It was only $35 for 1hr. 15min. massage. Heaven. Then we hung around the beach and pool at the resort. Very nice. We went riding with Randi's Happy Horses. The beach ride was great, but there was an extra ship in that day (Mercury) unexpectedly, and I think things got a little hairy for Randi and Victor's restaurant. It was not the experience that it was cracked up to be on the boards. Not bad, just not a highlight. We took the water taxi to Lovers Beach in Cabo. It was beautiful. Be very careful getting in and out of the water taxi when you get to the beach. It is not easy, and is an accident waiting to happen. Definitely not enough time in Cabo. That would be my biggest complaint of the entire cruise.

We saw Jared a couple of times, but none of them when he was eating. He was in the internet cafe and we saw him getting on the Primetime shuttle. No limo for Jared. Although he was in the front seat.:)
