Just returned from the Millennium...

I can't write too much now, but will work on a full review next week, if anyone has any question in the meantime let me know. Overall I give it an 8 out of 10, if I hadn't read these boards beforehand I'd give it a 8.5.

Also this was my first cruise on X.

Since there were so few negative experiences I'll go through them now.

The reason I mentioned about giving it a point off because of reading these boards for 2 months:

No cold towels when coming back on the ship after port days. I did see that they had them in two ports, never noticed in the other two. However, they were out of them both times I tried to get one. Saw the silver try with a used one on it in St. Thomas and the other time the woman was standing there (Puerto Rico) and said more were on the way? So I never would have known about them if it weren't for this board and to me not too big of a deal, but it would have been a nice "extra." Note we didn't arrive back on the ship at the very end. In one port we got back 3 hours before sailing in the other 1.5.

Also I got the last glass of "welcome aboard" champagne-so had to share with my DH. Again not too big of a deal.

Another issue I had was precruise transfer from pre-cruise booked hotel. We stayed in Miami for two days prior. Well we weren't picked up to go to Ft. Lauderdale until 1:00. We stopped at two other hotels and then the driver had to go back to the hotel we stayed at to pick up another guest that they forgot about. It was kind of annoying when I just wanted to get to the ship. So we didn't get to board until about 2:15.

The major issue: Our first stateroom room 2026 (change now if you have it!). First off the carpet was very stained and shower moldy. Not too big of a deal and we would have stayed there all week if it wasn't for the noise. After the first night hearing major toilet flushing and some other kind of water noise and then a clicking noise. You know the sound when you put a zipper in the dryer? I called down at 3:00am to ask about it and they investigated. It got a little better, but the flushing noise or whatever it was it was terrible. We didn't sleep at all. The next morning they said there weren't any rooms we could switch too. I got ear plugs and we went to bed at 2:00 trying to stay up as late as we could so we'd sleep soundly. The ear plugs helped a little but it was still miserable. I think we were over the washing/drying area of the ship, they wouldn't tell us? We got back from Caso De Campo and there was a message saying they had a room for us. We moved up 1 floor to room 3032 and everything was great after that. (the carpet had been newly replaced and nothing wrong with the room). We still heard a slight toilet flushing sound but it was 100% better and we didn't wake up every 20 minutes! It was a pain to move all our stuff. They were nice about it calling twice to make sure everything was alright now and we had our stateroom attendant help us (we have him $10).

Another minor issue was we had requested a table for 2 and when we got onboard we were assigned a table of 10. The Matrade (sp?) was not very nice onboard I tried to be friendly when we were allowed to meet with him, had to wait as there were about 5 couples in front of us trying to make changes. I said wow they keep you busy when I first met him (or something like that) and he was very short and was just like "how can I help you."

We stayed at our table of 10 cause there weren't any 2's. It turned out perfect, we loved our table mates and enjoyed going to dinner every night!!

Seems as though, with all that you liked, and those few things that weren't so great, that you had a good cruise, and were treated well. The room thing must have been annoying, so I'm glad they were able to help. It's always nice to read a thread that has some complaints and some positives, and no threats of lawsuits or compensation! You had a legitimate beef, and got taken care of. And glad the table thing worked out. We always request tables of ten, both because we enjoy the company, and because we seem to end up at them anyway! Never dissapointed about not getting a table for two that way!:) Welcome home.
