gigglesgee Posted January 21, 2012 #1 Share Posted January 21, 2012 Are there any hotels close enough to the port that I can wake up the day of the cruise and look out and see the ships in port?
Toad Posted January 21, 2012 #2 Share Posted January 21, 2012 I too would love to know the answer and the approximate price, and a short review.
CruiserBruce Posted January 21, 2012 #3 Share Posted January 21, 2012 Asked many times. Hyatt Pier 66 and Embassy Suites, both on 17th St. Both are very common stays for pre-cruisers. You can check prices on their websites, as they vary quite a bit by season. Both get pretty good overall comments. Bear in mind the side of the hotel is critical for getting that port view. Eng23 Posted January 21, 2012 #4 Share Posted January 21, 2012 Hotels with probably the best views will be: Hilton Marina and Hyatt Pier 66, the higher the floor the better. Hotels with views if on the side facing the port: Embassy Suites 17th Street high floor. There are a few others but they are further away and will have obstructed views. setsail Posted January 21, 2012 #7 Share Posted January 21, 2012 Another is the Renaissance..A view from the hotel to Allure and from the aft of allure back to the hotel
DanJ Posted January 21, 2012 #8 Share Posted January 21, 2012 The Crowne Plaza would give more of a broadside view of the area of the port where the Oasis/Allure dock. However, whichever of those 2 in port that day would really obstruct the view of the other ships in that part of the port. If you don't have a south facing room, the pool deck, which is 4 or 5 floors up, faces the port
