There was a thread about a possible lawsuit that was rumored and floating around here on the CC board....for recent cruisers can you tell me if the slide was open and what ship you were on....

hmmm. interesting. We were on the Conquest in Feb. A person in our group had slipped on deck the first day at sea and hurt his hand. He saw the ship's doctor and did a follow up in Grand Cayman. The ship's medical staff was great! But what was kind of odd and creepy in a way was on the last day at sea, we all decided we had to go down the slide. When our friend who had fallen got down the slide, the ships doctor was waiting at the bottom to ask him how his hand was feeling. Hmmm. We've talked about that several times and wonder if he was there to let us know that he'd been seen on the slide or to head off any thoughts of lawsuit. It was just weird.

Someone has mentioned a possible lawsuit over a waterslide incident. Don't know if there is any truth to this rumor but will say that when my husband went down the slide on the Legend he said he slammed into a wall of sorts that they have at the end of the landing pool. He said there's not enough of an incline to slow you down sufficiently before hitting that wall. Probably all of the Spirit class slides are similar and those are the ones that seem to be shut down. So it could be that someone had an accident with one of these walls and they are trying to figure out a fix. He has been down slides on the Destiny and Victory and said those were set up differently.

Spirits was closed the entire week of April 2-10. Absolutely could have been open atleast 5 of the days. Probably not the 1st 1 or last 2 but all the other days were fine. My son was very dissapointed.

I think the problem may be with the slides that don't go into the pools. The Elations went into the pool and was no problem, the Spirits goes into a little box of water at the end. That in itself was bad since all the pictures lead you to believe otherwise.

Happy Cruising,

Donna

FYI - Just spoke to my mother live from the Pride. The waterslide is closed, but she spoke to someone named Katherin that works on the ship who said it should be open by my sail date of May 15th. One can only hope...
