A&L_Ont Posted January 9, 2019 #26 Share Posted January 9, 2019 Biker, you know this thread is from 2012. You are 7 years late with that notification. 😉

I guess recycling is better than starting a new thread, then folks would say why didn't you do a search. I wonder if I was at Risk on my Oasis cruises between 2012 and 2016? 😉😂 Hopefully the riding is good today, and remember don't put your hands on the wood rail at the wave. It rarely gets cleaned. The lifeguards are wiping down the rails on the pools. Someone just blew chunks on deck 16 port side. We are safe up in the SL. Forgot to add, someone vomited in the casino's mens room last night. I just figured it was a drunk. Guess I was wrong. Edited January 9, 2019 by John&LaLa
Oneluckywoman Posted January 9, 2019 #31 Share Posted January 9, 2019 We are currently on the oasis and last night my husband came down with all of the symptoms of noro virus. This morning when i went to the diamond lounge for breakfast, i was not allowed to serve myself. The captain has made an announcement that many passengers are sick and they are taking precautions to help. I'm not sick yet but washing my hands like crazy! Does anyone have experience with quarantines from this? Not really sure what to do. Hubby feels somewhat better today but last night was rough. I'm bringing him water and bland foods, so far so good. cb at sea Posted January 9, 2019 #32 Share Posted January 9, 2019 Not much you can do...it has to run its course. Just keep washing YOUR hands...and do NOT touch your face without cleaned hands ....eyes, nose and mouth are all entry points!
VaTech8912 Posted January 9, 2019 #33 Share Posted January 9, 2019 I have heard to try and avoid taking meds that would prevent either throwing up or going to bathroom as these can slow down the process of getting over the virus. Your body is trying to get it out....not fun, hopefully he is on the mend.

njkruzer Posted January 9, 2019 #36 Share Posted January 9, 2019 Also on Oasis. We're fine. We're docked in Falmouth but haven't been cleared. It's been almost 2 hrs. Not sure why and wonder if it is the noro outbreak. There has been an ambulance on the dock for a long time but don't know why.
coaster Posted January 9, 2019 #37 Share Posted January 9, 2019 (edited) Local authorities in Falmouth might be hesitant to allow a ship with sick passengers to disembark. Edited January 9, 2019 by coaster

NeedsVitaminSea Posted January 9, 2019 #39 Share Posted January 9, 2019 Lots of good information on this site: http://www.stopthestomachflu.com/ Key take away - regular hand sanitizers don't kill Noro! You must wash hands to get rid of it. Never put your hands in your mouth or on your food without washing them first.
Oneluckywoman Posted January 9, 2019 #40 Share Posted January 9, 2019 They are not allowing us to disembark in Falmouth. Makes sense, the Jamaicans don't want it either!
The Fun Researcher Posted January 9, 2019 #41 Share Posted January 9, 2019 Besides Noro, the standard flu infections in the US just skyrocketed the last week or two. Wouldn't be surprised if a good number of cases are the flu as well. Dan
Biker19 Posted January 9, 2019 #42 Share Posted January 9, 2019 (edited) The entertainment staff are handling serving duties in the WJ - it’s nice to get dessert from one of the them. Biker, who wonders if port taxes are refunded if no one is allowed off the ship. Edited January 9, 2019 by Biker19

Nothing against the regular WJ staff but it’s a nice change of pace to have the entertainment staff working there.
nbsjcruiser Posted January 9, 2019 #50 Share Posted January 9, 2019 (edited) Sorry if this is a duplication. Just got a facebook message from my Son who is on the Oasis. Oasis was turned away from Jamaica because of a Noro outbreak. Apparently there are 150 people sick on board. Not sure if it will be allowed to dock in Cozumel tomorrow or not.
