dorisis Posted March 18, 2012 #1 Share Posted March 18, 2012 I have the Fodor's Ports of Call. Can you recommend any other books that might be helpful? ~Doris~

CaliforniaAC Posted April 19, 2012 #3 Share Posted April 19, 2012 I go to my local library, and check out books on all the ports I go to, plus the popular travel ones- Fodor's, Frommer's, Lonley Planet, National Geographic, etc. For me, researching a port is part of the fun:D
blue_water Posted April 20, 2012 #4 Share Posted April 20, 2012 Online research can be helpful as well, many sites are great resources for information on island customs, foods, accommodations, etc. Just googling turns up some interesting information. Lazirus65 Posted May 7, 2012 #5 Share Posted May 7, 2012 DK Eyewitness Travel Caribbean I think is one of the best books out there.
teeny25 Posted July 1, 2012 #6 Share Posted July 1, 2012 I personally like the "Unoffcial Guides".. they give unusual information(ex: where to find bathrooms and how to avoid crowds) along with the basics. I know they have an unoffical guide to cruises, probably to the Caribbean too. I am reading their guide to New Orleans right now.
