Added perqs for having a suite?

I have only been on one cruise (I have another coming up in September). We had a suite on Destiny and I was really disappointed there were not any other perks for suites. How nice it would be for guests and inexpensive for Carnival to give suite guests a fruit and croissant tray one day for breakfast, maybe another day and dessert tray waiting prior to bedtime, I'm sure there are other things they could do to that would be inexpensive for them and go along way to guests.

Just call room service and fruit and breakfast rolls delivered free! Milk and cookies anytime! And every room qualifies! :)

I often wondered this as well ,I spent thousand in the casino every cruise and they are so stingy( some ships better than others). But in a suite you should get something special everyday.Choc covered strawberries cost almost nothing to make yet it would make you feel special.A friut basket is another cheap and easy thing to make.Everyday they should have a nice little something waiting for you when you return from port, you paid for it

I had a grand suite in October on the Sensation. There was a complimentary bottle of champagne in the room when we arrived. That first night at dinner someone came to our table to ensure we received the champagne and asked if we needed anything. I asked her why we received the champagne and she said "because you're special guests". I assumed it was a suite perk.

Yow!

I'm not yet Platinum. (And the way it sounds, "Platinum" soon won't mean squat anyway...) But being I'm soon to enjoy my first Suite, I can't complain. No, I won't get free laundry, and other minor goodies, I realize. But, I do get priority boarding and debarkation. (Which is more than they have to do, IMHO)

But, I DO agree CCL's loyalty program is weak, at best.

Really, aside from cost, what's to keep me from booking with the competition?

Just my opinion, of course!

I think when you book a suite you get all the platinum benefits, for some reason I think I read that somewhere( if not I will be corrected really quick) :)

We upgraded to the "Obstructed View Suite" on Elation this past Jan. It seems to me the Room Stewards were a bit nicer, called us by name and were always there when we wanted something. The only other real feature was the added room with a sofa and coffee table. The extra space was nice.

Norwegian has suite perks that blow most other cruise lines out of the water.

True, but the only thing that is in line price wise with ccl suites is maybe a junior suite, and there's no perks with that on ncl either. You pretty much get what you pay for.

We have booked our first suite for our25th Anniversary cruise! Excited for the spacious cabin and larger balcony! Priority boarding! We have waited in some long lines on previous cruises! Have had some poor room stewards in the past and I'm hoping the best take care of the suites!

I do agree with you. I treated myself to a Suite one time, and it sure was nice getting on board fast.

On my 9th cruise, it was worth waiting in line with 50 plus people ahead of me, knowing it would be the last time I had to do it..

Personally, I feel that I would spend my money on a different cruise line before I spend the same amount of money for a "suite" on Carnival.,

For example, you can get a Concierge Class stateroom aboard a Solstice class Celebrity ship for the same amount as a perks-less suite aboard an older Fantasy class Carnival ship.

Getting a suite on Carnival is a upscale and glamorous as getting a suite at a Hampton Inn or La Quinta.

Depends on the cruise. We had a suite in Jan. on NCL that cost about the same as the aft balcony I have booked on CCL. Had a butler, concierge, fruit replenished daily, bottle of sparkling wine on departure, VIP boarding and disembarkation, breakfast and lunch available in a special restaurant, special toiletries, VIP cocktail party, VIP tender and a special room service menu (NCL's normal one is meager).

We love suites even if there aren't really any added "perks". As for food trays- I can really do without. On a past cruise both Carnival and our TA sent us edible goodies on various nights. Suffice it to say, most of it got thrown out. How many chocolate covered strawberring can a person eat? It was a really nice gesture, but I felt bad about the waste. We really enjoyed the extra space and jacuzzi tub and bigger balcony. The "funky" lighting actually created ambience. And anyone cruising with us in regular balcony rooms who visited us didn't say "oh yuck" or "how mundane" when they saw the suite- they oohed and ahhed. The biggest "perk" to us was having a nicer room to spend down time in and not feel guilty for not being on the go all the time.
