cruisenfever Posted April 23, 2012 #2 Share Posted April 23, 2012 Does the Radiance serve Alaskan King Crab, Salmon, and Baked Alaska on their Alaskan voyage? Have never had crab on any RCI ship no matter the itinerary but Salmon is always served. They did away with Baked Alaska several years ago. goinmobile68 Posted April 23, 2012 #3 Share Posted April 23, 2012 No local specialties on board that I recall, but plenty of opportunities on shore to "seafood yourself silly"! (and I recommend it!)
Puffinater Posted April 23, 2012 #4 Share Posted April 23, 2012 I doubt the salmon they serve on the Alaskan cruises is Alaskan Salmon. Best bet is off the ship.

klingoncruiser Posted April 23, 2012 #6 Share Posted April 23, 2012 The last time I was on RCI in Alaska, they did trot out Baked Alaska as a special treat for Alaska. (Just no flames) Salmon is the farmed stuff and King Crab does not happen. However.. there are some wonderful local places to eat on shore that all have the real seafood and it is about as fresh as it can get. Yummmmm. Budget Queen Posted April 24, 2012 #8 Share Posted April 24, 2012 Yep- the salmon on board is not Alaskan. Head to a salmon bake, which offers good salmon. For some fantastic halibut, eat at the Showcase in Seward- hopefully you have time there anyway- wonderful place. Also Chilkoots and Rays for excellent meals. Don't miss Tracy's Crab Shack in Juneau, on the wharf, it's fantastic!!!
