Liberty OTS, 5 night Western Med - Cruise Compass and other flyers

Recommended Posts

Just back from our 5 night Liberty of the Seas Western Mediterranean sailing.

Embarking in Barcelona, we sailed to Cannes (tendered), Livorno (docked), Civitavecchia (docked) and then 1 day at sea before returning to Barcelona.

A full review will be coming soon, a link to photos are below my signature.

Here are links to various documents/flyers and the Cruise Compass from this sailing.

We can't access any of your Documents...what we get is:

https://drive.google.com/start?authuser=0#home

Perhaps the "?authuser=0" is the problem. No users authorized? :)

Apologies, but these are on Google docs and I have just checked and they are shared to anyone with the link. I am not familiar with Google Drive, sorry. I have checked and have been able to open each document without issue and I am not logged into Google Docs to check they can be accessed.

Thanks Pete, it will be very useful for everyone going on liberty this year, only a few days to go now for us! :D

How did you get to the airport? Do Royal offer a transfer only without sightseeing? Hoping to depart about 8.00 - 8.30am.

Didn't notice the game Quest on the compasses, did I miss it?

Did you find any free wifi in the ports?

We caught a taxi to the airport. €35 incl tip.

RCI appeared to be offering shuttle transfers in the baggage hall of the terminal, but we see the price. We disembarked at 8:30 and were at the airport around 9:15.

Free wifi in Cannes at McDonalds, can't miss it. Loads of people use it, inside and outside.

Didn't have chance in Livorno but found it at Subway in Civitavecchia, not at McDonalds as it's only available free to those with an Italian sim card.

No Quest on our 5 night sailing unfortunately.

Have a great time

Thank you for this information. Did you manage to get connection in subway? In Rome will we have to watch out that places offering wifi might not let us connect without an Italian sim?

Is Subway on the route to the train station?

Is Subway on the route to the train station?

The McDonalds in Cannes is here

The Subway in Civitavecchia is here, and yes on the way to the train station, but a little hidden, but there are signposts for it.

They don't open until around 10:30 (ish) and as long as you purchase something they will give you a card and tell you the network to select and log into.

As I said, McDonalds in Civitavecchia advertise free WiFi, but you can only use it if you have an Italian SIM card, so I presume it could be the case in Rome.

There is another cafe in Civitavecchia opposite McDonalds that gives free WiFi, but the reception isn't that great.

Thanks Peter, The compass preview will be a great help for when we board a week on Monday. Were there many people dressing up on the formal night ?

Looking forward to the review.

Are the first 2 pics of a hotel?

I just finished reading your fantastic review and your list of highlights and lowlights.

15000 cruise passengers + regular tourists = a very busy Rome. Sounds stressful! I think we might just enjoy the ship that day.... Did you feel the majority of the passengers left the ship while in Rome?

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing!

I think Mariner had completed her TA from the US in preparation for her 2012 European program, so all those passengers would either be travelling to Rome for an extended stay or sightseeing definitely.

I did feel that most left the ship as it was very quiet. The only thing I didn't like was that places like Johnny Rockets which we enjoy when it is quiet for lunch, did not open until 3 pm nor Sorrentos which didn't open until 2 pm, which is too late for lunch. So the only venue available for lunch is the WJ because of course as it was not a sea day the MDR wasn't open either.
