Silhouette Med Cruise Review With Lots of Photos and Menus

We have just posted a review to our website with lots of photos of our recently completed Mediterranean cruise on the Celebrity Silhouette. Also included are menus from many of the bars and eating venues along with food photos from the main dining room. It was an absolutely wonderful cruise to some great ports. We also took a post-cruise trip to incredibly beautiful Bellagio on Lake Como.

The review is located at www.thepreismans.com. I hope it is helpful for those of you that are planning a cruise; and that it brings back some fond memories to those of you who have been able to visit these amazing ports.

WOW!! I was impressed with your previous cruise reviews/photo tours but this is superlative. I really would love to take this itinerary. I must take the time to go back and savor your photos and wonderful commentary again.

Thank you for all the effort that clearly went into your site.

Loved your entire review! We will be on the Silhouette in October going from Rome to Venice. The only difference in your ports is that we also go to Slovenia and we only have 1 sea day. I am so glad you posted the pictures. I was thinking about staying in the city in Montnegro and doing it on our own but you tour looks wonderful. I may change may mind. You also said that it is a short walk from the pier to Ravenna. I heard that it is a pretty long walk and we should take a cab or shuttle. If it is a short walk, we don't mind walking. Thanks for all the information!

You would not want to walk into Ravenna. The short walk was from where the shuttle bus dropped us off in downtown Ravenna to the historic buildings.

Your reviews and pictures are always amazing! We hope to do this cruise in a year or two. What month did you go? Looks like you had great weather for the most part.

Thanks,

Vicky

Appreciate the highly-detailed postings. Looks great with so many pictures of excellent quality. Loved the many and very nice pictures from wonderful Venice and super ports/places. Brings back excellent memories from many of our favorite cities. And, a few we are wanting to visit in the future.

Having been on the Solstice last June, it was interesting to see the various features, looks and details for the Silhouette. Noticed your Cruise Director, Paul Baya, was the CD on our Solstice cruising last June from Barcelona. Great summaries, pictures and details. Did see you are a Canon guy with lots of good equipment. I'm a Nikon guy, but things can work well either way. The improvements in digital has been amazing during the past decades, plus the ability to edit/fine-tune your pictures on your laptop. Which computer and photo software do you use?

THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio

Did a June 7-19, 2011, Solstice cruise from Barcelona that had stops in Villefranche, ports near Pisa and Rome, Naples, Kotor, Venice and Dubrovnik. Enjoyed great weather and a wonderful trip. Dozens of wonderful visuals with key highlights, tips, comments, etc., on these postings. We are now at 89,339 views for this live/blog re-cap on our first sailing with Celebrity and much on wonderful Barcelona. Check these postings and added info at:

Thanks for the very nice comments Terry. I always enjoy seeing your lovely photos and comments about the various ports we will and have visited. They were most helpful in planning for this cruise. Nikon and Canon are both fine cameras; but like many things, we prefer what we are used to. It is unfortunate that the lenses aren't compatible or I would certainly like to try out some of the Nikons. I use Photoshop CS5 with a Windows 7 computer. Carol uses Microsoft Digital Image. As you know, the digital image editing software makes a huge difference in the end result.

I don't envy your only having one sea day! This itinerary was about as port intensive as I want to get.

In my opinion, you may be disappointed if you only stay in Montenegro. It's a beautiful little town, but it won't take all day to see it and the ship was there for ten hours. The surrounding countryside is so beautiful. :)

Appreciate the added info and follow-up. It is amazing how some fine-tuning, a little cropping, etc., can make a huge difference for improving photo quality and highlighting the key parts of an image. Glad you've seen and like my photo postings. Keep up the good work!!

Hi Mike, thank you for providing me with some wonderful entertainment to pass this cold and rainy friday afternoon in England. I met you briefly at the start of this amazing cruise, at sailaway in Venice, when you were worrying about being late for dinner! Never ran into you again,-now I know why! What a lot you packed in. It also looks like I need to plan a weekend in Bellagio urgently! What a beautiful place.

Hi Alison,

So nice to hear from you. Yes, it was a very busy vacation.:D We are looking forward to visiting your beautiful part of the world this time next year before our Baltic cruise. Hopefully it will be sunny and lovely in the UK, like it was for our Med cruise.
