Princess menu

Douglase

Recommended Posts

There is one seafood entree every night....and some of the pasta main courses have seafood or something in them. But, there is the always available steak, fettucine alfredo, appetizers, soups and salads. Also check the right side of the menu - under the vegetarian and heart healthy menu there MIGHT be some different items offered than on the regular menu on the left side of the menu. Did that once and had an absolutely delicious pasta dish one night!

Red meat lover here too. Never had a problem with the Princess menu - if all else fails, the always available steak is an option.

And I always exercise that option when they have Beef Wellington on the menu - I have always that "what a way to ruin a perfectly good piece of beef".

I seen the always available menu. My wife and I love to try different dishes,so the always available menu would not be an option every nite. We never had a problem finding something on our other cruises. I wonder if Princess would send us a menu.? Or direct us to a site where it is posted.

Thanks for all the info so far.

We were on the Golden last December. My son ordered the steak on the always available menu every night, and every night the waiter talked him into whatever steak was featured that night. He never made a bad choice. I think you will find something good and different (that's not fish) every night. I am a very picky eater (nothing green, no soup or fish, ...), and sometimes I'm amazed by the dishes I try on a cruise! And remember, if you order something and absolutely cannot eat it, you can always order again!

Douglase,

You can always check the menus posted outside the dining room before dinner, and if you can't find anything you want to eat, you could go to the Horizon Court. They always have a variety there. Some is what is on the dining room menu, but some is different. I'm allergic to seafood, and on the nights when I didn't feel like eating whatever the alternative in the dining room was, and didn't feel like a steak (which by the way, was always good), we'd go to the Horizon Court. You can also, only if you wish, go to the alternative, for a fee, restaurants if you want what is on their menu. Room service is another option if you feel like having a light, sandwich type of meal. Some ships have a pizza restaurant that is open later.........I think the Sun Princess does, but others have pizza restaurants that close at 5 or 6pm.

Happy cruising!

I am allergic to shellfish, and don't really care for any other fish. We always eat in the dining room and there are many other choices. I have never been disappointed or gone away hungry!! :)

Hi!

I've searched for the specific ship menus on google and gotten the menus for the ships I wanted. Might check the date the menus were scanned or entered online. Some slight variations might occur but the ones I printed out and took with us were right on! It's just awful how I want to know everything ahead of time!! :D

I am definitely a red meat eater. My husband and I do not eat seafood. Every night in the dining room there was red meat for us to eat. Our waitress and head waiter recommended what to eat--we like our meat rare, and they did a great job. We ate in Sabatini's one night of our 15 night Island cruse. There was not a red meat entree on the menu, however, we had gone to the restaurant ahead of time and asked the maitre'd if we could have a filet (one of our CC friends was celebrating her 50th birthday and we didn't want to miss it, even tho the menu was not to our liking). They brought us each a fabulous filet, the same one that we had in the Bayou Cafe at lunch for my 50th birthday. It was wonderful!! So just ask, and I'm sure that you will be accommodated....

There is always a choice of some sort of meat on the regular menus. The first and last night have always featured prime rib on our cruises, the first formal night has tournadoes of beef which is really a fillet with sauce, the second formal night offers beef wellington, Italian Night has a veal chop, French or Continental or Caribbean Night (I've seen it called all of the above with only slight variations) has roast pork, and another night has lamb chops (aka rack of lamb.) Plus, there is always the Sterling steakhouse -- we ate there twice on the Golden last month and loved it, thought it was well worth the $15/pp surcharge. On embarkation day, there is a waiter set up outside Sabatini's to make reservation for both alternative restaurants --- many people ask him which night has which theme , to help them decide when to book the specialty restaurants. Also, as stated above, you can order a steak off the Always Available menu any night in the DR. You should be fine----

I don't eat fish, either (allergic to shellfish, too) and I always can find something to eat. As others have said, you can check out that day's menus outside of the restaurant ahead of time. I'm pretty picky about sauces, etc. I don't use salad dressings so on the first day I ask for lemon slices and just about every cruise, the waiter will automatically bring lemon to the table each lunch/dinner. That's what is great about traditional dining.

Hi All,

Just returned from the Western Caribbean on the Caribbean Princess and just wanted to say that the menus have changed slightly. Not the "themes", but the set up of the menus themselves. They no longer list champagnes and wines on the lower portion of the page. They have tweaked the "always available" most notably replaced the steak with beef tenderloins. And the whole left side is now listed as "Lotus Spa Menu" - it has the vegetarian and healthy heart choices listed there.

It's been so long since I've asked for menus that I never even thought about it...now I'm so sorry now that I didn't. :o

I just got off the Dawn and they had a meat choice every night. It was either, beef, lamb or pork (well, I guess the last one isn't really red meat). Anyway, you won't have a problem finding something you'll like.

I find that when I go to dinner there are always people who stand right in front of the menus blocking them for others to read and usually refuse to move. Wouldn't it be nice for the ship to post the daily menus (BFST, LUNCH AND DINNER) ON THE INTERNAL TV CHANNEL. This way you can plan whether you want to use the special dining rooms, buffet or main room. This is a courtesy to the passengers and I am not limiting this to Princess. All the other lines and ships should do it as well.:)
