Johnno3c Posted August 12, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 12, 2012 Hello people Wondering if anybody can tell me if the shows will have changed from 2010 on the IOS which is the last time we cruised this ship?
akcruz Posted August 12, 2012 #2 Share Posted August 12, 2012 Most likely not. Shows remain the same for about 7 years. Costs too much to change out the sets.
Artemis Posted August 12, 2012 #3 Share Posted August 12, 2012 Hi, John, when we took the backstage tour on Freedom in July, we learned each show costs $8-10 million to stage, so Royal will run it as long as 6-8 years (unless it is a total bomb). Wow! So...what you really need to know is, how long have those Indy shows been running already? Obviously, I think it's fair to bet the shows will be the same as they were 2 years ago. But I hope you are lucky and catch one that's been introduced since you last cruised! :) {oops! cross-posted with akcruz}
krewzin Posted August 12, 2012 #4 Share Posted August 12, 2012 Yeah, we're a family that really loves the evening shows (especially on RCI), and the only reason we wouldn't rebook on FOS recently is because we cruised her 16 months ago and wanted to see different shows. We really loved that ship too (and it's within an hour drive of our home) but the shows are *that* important to us where we booked LOS instead, just to see something different! Oh well looks like we will be finding other stuff to pass the evenings but I am sure it wont be hard to do that.:) There will at least be celebrity entertainers who you might not have seen before and sometimes a different cast can make a difference in just how much you enjoy a production show you have seen previously. A cast member once told us of a guest who said how much more he enjoyed the show on this occasion because the cast was so much better than the one he had seen on that ship a few months earlier. She thanked him for the compliment but refrained from telling him that he had actually seen the same cast for both performances, but their performances had improved over time from doing the show so repeatedly. littlesteelo Posted August 12, 2012 #7 Share Posted August 12, 2012 Nope, the shows are still the same, and will be until at least April, when they may change them in drydock.
