Ahoy Maties!

The view of the Atlantis Resort from our balcony.

Great weather and a great day in Nassau. We took a tour of New Providence which cost us 25 dollars per person for a 2 hour tour that included cable beach, the fort, the queen's stairway and it ended up with us having time at Atlantis. To get on the tour we had "Captain Kirk" stop us and offer us the tour and we took it. Sometimes we like to just play it by ear and we weren't disappointed as he took us to all parts of New Providence and Nassau and we got to see how the locals live.

Norweigen Gem and the Carnival Fantasy were also docked here in Nassau, but we were the last ship to leave at 8pm. Greg and I have dinner in the dining room and then headed to Superstar Karaoke where we got to sing with a live band. We had a good time. Then it was off to the Casino to lose some money. :) Stopped off at lido deck to grab a piece of pizza and here I am, writing to you.

The Seas are very calm now..and bluer than blue. We have a sea day tomorrow (today) and then it's Grand Turk on Saturday.

Monkey - There is, indeed, Calzones available at Pirate Pizza (24 hour Pizza). I had one 2 nights ago and it was yummy.

NYbumpkin - Thank you so much for the info on NY Harbor. That eases our minds a lot.

Ipanema - It couldn't be more perfect spending halloween on a ship that has "Frankenstein's Lab" as their dance club. My hubby thought it was named that just for this cruise and he was surprised when I told him that it was the permanent name of the nightclub. That's also when I pointed out to him that the theme of the ship was Fictional Icons in Literature.

Stilles, Copper and bonezzz - I am glad you are enjoying the entries. Let me know if you have any questions.

I am off to let the sea lull me to sleep. There is a lot of trivia going on tomorrow...gotta keep my brain sharp. haha.

Stay tuned...

Love the live review! Thanks for taking the time to do it. My husband would kill me if I tried any such thing!

Question for you: is the 24 hour pizza aboard the "new" style pizza? I heard most ships were getting this new thin (almost cracker thin) pizza and I have to say I am kind of disappointed. If your ship does have the thin pizza, do they also offer the "old" regular style pizza?

Thanks for the reply. Hope your return to NY is uneventful. Leaving on the Miracle 11/6. Have not heard any information contrary to returning to Manhattan from CC. Still keeping all our East Coast neighbors in my thoughts.

Hello from the Miracle,

384886_10151509586477576_1521898211_n.jpg

We are about to take leave of Grand Turk and make our way back up to NYC over the next two sea days and we are having a great time!

We spent a nice leisurely day sailing yesterday and then had our dinner at Nick and Nora's Steakhouse last night. It was outstanding. Greg and I both had the surf and turf and the filet mignon was tender and the lobster was sweet and fresh. Adrian and his assistant Timea were awesome and Adrian will be staying on the Miracle for the repositioning after the first of the year. If you happen to see him at Nick and Nora's tell him hi from the couple from California who talked his ear off. lol.

After dinner, we sang some karaoke and gave the casino some of our money. At 11:45 pm we headed to "Carnival Quest". If you have not done this interactive show, I highly recommend it....but ONLY if you do not get easily offended by sexual connotations and R rated situations. We laughed soooo much. You don't have to participate if you don't want to, but if you do, make sure you are game for anything. lol.

We woke up this morning in beautiful Grand Turk. We didn't have anything planned, so we just went ashore and had lunch at Margaritaville. It's pricey and they include the gratuity. Lunch for both of us was 73.00 USD. Hubby had a chicken wrap with a large pina colada and I had a taco salad with a large margarita. That was it. We found everything at the port rather expensive. Greg almost decided to go swimming but then changed his mind and we just headed back to the ship.

Shumditl - I don't know if we took on anymore passengers in Port Canaveral. It didn't seem like it. Not sure why anyone would want to board at PC and then end up in NYC having to fly all the way back to PC on a short notice scenario like that.

Liza - You're welcome and thank you :)

bonezz - I have noticed signs posted at certain machines in the casino stating whether or not you may smoke there, however, I havent really taken note how these are split up. I have noticed a lot of the "smoking" slots are near the walkway, which doesn't make sense to me with children walking through.

dotcomgirl - Thank you. The pizza crust doesn't seem super thin nor thick to me. It's just sort of in between and they don't offer a choice.

Mju - We haven't heard a thing about our return into Manhatten at all. I am assuming all is going as planned.

Suze - I forgot to mention that I saw Don and Colleen again and gave them a hello from you guys. Just wanted to let you know the message was delivered.

Okay..signing off again. Tonight is "cruise casual" in the dining room.

Stay tuned...

Ahoy!

Hi Everyone. This will most likely be my last entry as our internet time is running down.

I am glad you have all enjoyed the entries. We have had a fantastic time on this cruise. It started off a bit wobbly (literally), but it was nice to add a little adventure into our cruise and the extra free day was a bonus.

Really the only thing I can complain about is that we did not get our invite to the past guest party so we could receive our VIFP pins, since this is our first cruise after that program has been implemented. I went to guest services tonight and made them aware of it and he was very apologetic and didn't understand why we did not get our invite. He promptly went to the back and came out with our 2 VIFP pins. So all is ok with us. We aren't upset about missing the party.

We are still in warm winds as I write this. I was just out on our balcony and it is a beautiful night.

Besides the past guest party hiccup, guest services has been wonderful to us. They called the theatre where we had our "Wicked" tickets and got them to honor the tickets upon our return Tuesday night. They said they will try and get us as close to our original seats as possible. So it looks like we will be seeing "Wicked" after all. We had to juggle our airline tickets to go home Wednesday now and it means extra cost of a hotel in NYC, but we travel to the east coast so little, that we figured we can't pass up the opportunity to see a show that my hubby's co-workers purchased the tickets for.

Oh, one more observation. One of you had asked about the pizza crust at Pizza Pirate 24 hour pizza. Tonight I inspected it and took note of the crust more closely. It is, in fact, pretty thin. So it does look like they have decided to go with a thin crust. There is no other choice of crust. At least I was not offered any. I am not sure if you can make a special request.

Well, that does it for me as far as live reporting goes. I will check in here when I get home of course. Thank you to those of you that had kind words to say and to those that have been affected by Sandy, my heart goes out to you and your families.

I wish you all smooth sailing!

I really enjoyed your post and loved the fact that, I could read it in one setting, as soon as I got up this morning. Finishing my cereal now and logging off to get ready for work. ;)

I look forward to seeing the pics that you'll post once you back home. So glad you had a great cruise, in spite of Hurricane Sandy.

Sorry to hear you had a VIP pin issue.

We miss the VIP party also. Things have changed, we got letters when we first arrived in our cabin, the VIP pins were with the letters. The letters had a drink coupon for the "new" comedy club Brunch, good for any day at sea. It had all events in one letter, which is easy to lose track of. We got to the past guest party that had the orchestra on stage, and full size cocktails. I had 2, and we danced on the stage. They had the video presentation and the captain who introduced the staff. Instead of raffling a dinner at the steak house or champagne bottle, they gave a gift to the only Diamond class person in the audience.

My mother in law got a Gold pin, and her sister the first time cruiser was given a VIP pin. Go figure. I tried to get the right pin for my mother in law, but the gold pin was the correct one, so that was OK, but I got a gold pin anyway, and my husband liked the design so he will actually wear it.

I'm pretty sure there was another party, but I can't find the letter for proof and who cares, we kept ourselves busy, and we dance every chance we get.

I hope your plane got out of New York today, it is snowing heavily now.

Glad you had a good time in spite of the weather.

We are sailing on the miracle in jan. i was wondering of they closed the roof over the pool at all for your cruise. I have heard that they don't usually close it. Anybody know if this is true?

I'm not the OP, but I was also on this cruise.

No, they didn't close the roof over the pool at any time. And we were invited to the VIP party but we didn't receive our pins there, they were waiting for us in our cabin on the first or second night after dinner.

Halloween was a blast! Lots of people dressed up and the ship had decorations on the Promenade Deck. The Quest was fun! Our team won.
