Rare Travelicious Posted November 16, 2012 #3 Share Posted November 16, 2012 I did not try from the ship, but found plenty of places for cheap or free access in ports. In the Cartegena port, 1 hour access was $3.00. That was the most expensive. Other ports had 1 hour access for $1.00, and I found free access at others in restaurants. There is really no need to pay the ship's extravagant prices if you only want to check in with family every few days.
kcscrapper Posted November 16, 2012 Author #4 Share Posted November 16, 2012 Thank you! I was wondering if it might be possible to get a screen grab of the Panama Canal web cam of our ship IN the Canal. (I doubt that anyone at home will be up!) Now ....since it seems possible, to figure out the actual "how to"!
BillB48 Posted November 16, 2012 #5 Share Posted November 16, 2012 I don't believe you will be able to pick up any (free) wi-fi while you are in the locks or the Canal.
Rare Keith1010 Posted November 17, 2012 #6 Share Posted November 17, 2012 You won't pick up free wifi and even the ships wifi will be very slow due to interference from the canal. Keith
kcscrapper Posted November 19, 2012 Author #7 Share Posted November 19, 2012 Oh. Okay. Thanks for the clear negative! I must have misunderstood the previous poster. We'll need to rely on someone from home, then, for that hoped for screen grab!
