signora Posted December 2, 2012 #1 Share Posted December 2, 2012 Is there any way to book a shore excursion pre-cruise and still use OBC to pay for it? There only seems to be a place online for a credit card. I'm a plan-ahead type of gal!
punkincc Posted December 2, 2012 #2 Share Posted December 2, 2012 The only way to use OBC is to book the excursion after you board the ship. But then you run the risk of it being sold out pre cruise if it is a very popular excursion. They do not hold back a certain percentage of excursions to sell onboard as they do for restaurant reservations.

This used to not be the case ( pay in advance) but because people would cancel when the got on the ship it would cause a mess for people who still needed to book shore excursions. On the other side, It is also a way for NCL to get your excursion paid for before the cruise so you don't use your OBC ( free money) for it. Now if you cancel your pre paid shore excursion when you get on the ship, they but a credit back on you onboard account to use as you wish, and if you have any of that credit leftover after the cruise they will send you a check in a few weeks. We got a check, some say the but it back on your CC, not what I have seen, they give you a letter with you account balance the last night explaining what will be done. OBC good when reserving on the ship.
