Splendor or Pride

We're considering a quick local sailing in the Spring. The local drivable options for us are Pride out of Baltimore or Splendor out of New York. They both carry the exact same itinerary.

We have been on Pride (2010) and at that time she seemed to be in a bit of need for some cosmetic repair (however we know she has been in dry dock since then). We've never been on Splendor, so we have no basis for comparison.

Is there anyone out there who has sailed on both of these ships and can offer a comparison?

Thank you!!

I was on the Splendor for Thanksgiving and have been on every Spirit Class ship but the Pride, but they are basically the same except for decor, and I for one, don't care about that.

I am not a fan of the Splendor. To me, it is very chopped up. There is no large open deck space like on the Pride. The middle deck has the big screen which seems to be screaming at you, hardly relaxing. The other decks are small. Did not spend any time at the Serenity area, but I understand you can hear the deck music, so not very serene. You cannot walk from one end of the ship to the other, you have to go up and over the dining room. The lines at the Lido Buffet always seemed long. I was sailing on a holiday week so there were lots of kids/families so maybe that contributed to the long lines.

So I'm sure you've guessed by now, I would go on the Pride, but that is JMHO.

I have been on the pride and the splendor and like both. If I had to choose I would take the pride because there are about 1000 less people on it which makes getting on and off easier. Also I like being able to walk around the entire lido deck without interruption. Like ccruisequeen said there is some vibration in the MDR. We were on deck 2 MDR in the very aft and could feel it quite well but it was not a big deal. I look forward to the miracle coming to Long Beach which is a sister ship of the pride.

Did the Pride last spring and it was great, did a great job in dry dock because we did not see any thing needing an upgrade. We had an extended balcony on deck 8 and loved it. Loved the ship even thought i had a hard time getting my berrings on the ship, never had a problem on any other ship . We are trying the Splendor this spring.
