conchead Posted December 10, 2012 #30 Share Posted December 10, 2012 If you consider the angle the pic was taken at, whatever it is is far enough away from the ship that is is pretty long...much longer than a dolphin or manatee. My guess is just a shadow of the wave, seaweed patch, whale shark, or a sea monster.
marsh-angler Posted December 10, 2012 #31 Share Posted December 10, 2012 Were you sailing thru the Bermuda Triangle?
Swampbabe Posted December 10, 2012 #32 Share Posted December 10, 2012 If you are out in open water it is NOT a manatee, probably a dolphin or whale shark.
Mom2JJandJ Posted December 10, 2012 #33 Share Posted December 10, 2012 After looking at this for a while, zooming and otherwise, I'm still not sure. Showed Hubbs and he thinks (depending on how far out you were... close to land, etc? Obviously not from that viewpoint, but maybe on the other side of the ship?) it could be a crab, small sea animal riding a clump of sea "stuff". At first I thought "no way!", but after looking at it, the white near the "head" of the anomaly looks like it might have a "passenger" right there. I guess it all come down to... I have NO FREAKING IDEA!!!!!!!! LOL Best of luck figuring it out!!
marsh-angler Posted December 10, 2012 #34 Share Posted December 10, 2012 After zooming in it could be the reflexion from the balcony next door.
