Hi everyone...

My DH and I are booked on the 15th September, sailing from Venice and are really excited about this new ship. We have cruised on the Diamond :)(loved this ship) and the Sun :((never again). We love the idea of everything being so new. Can't wait!!!

Cheers:)

We booked the maiden Caribbean sailing over 500 days out so that tells you how much we've been interested in Royal! I don't knowing if I can choose just one feature/aspect that I'm most looking forward to - certainly the Piazza with an expanded International Cafe (one of my favorite eating locations) and the new Gelato place ranks highly.

Hi,

We are booked on this ship's maiden voyage (the seven-day cruise departing from Southampton on June 16, 2013). I am very interested in ship design and exploring a new class of ship.

In particular, I can't wait to see the Piazza (it looks gorgeous) and the SeaWalk. It will be fun comparing this ship to the Grand class (I have cruised aboard the Grand Princess and Caribbean Princess and, most recently, the Emerald Princess this past July).

Celebrations -

Celebrating a special occasion? Anniversary? High School Graduation? Valentines Day? Birthday? Or just want to say 'I Love You' to that special someone in your life?

Located on the starboard aft side of the atrium, this gift shop new to Princess Cruises helps you commemorate any special day or well deserved indulgence.

Mmmmm...chocolate....

Not sure what those tiny glasses are for?

I want that one, and that one, and that one...

They should have chocolate scented air fresheners in this place so that it always smells like you stepped into a little slice of heaven on earth.

We are booked on the Royal Princess for her maiden Caribbean voyage in October (and over Hallowe'en, yet!!) Really excited to try her.

We just sailed the new Celebrity Reflection and thoroughly enjoyed it. A beautiful ship and a different experience, and no way that we will give up our Princess cruises - but our options have expanded.

More observations later - right now we are excited to go back to one of MY favorite ships, the Island Princess!

The idea was tossed out there to start a thread for all who EXCITED and are booked, or are looking at booking, the new ROYAL PRINCESS. In addition to this I would like to start a sort of 'Everything Royal Princess' thread, putting the ships public areas together on one thread, starting with the Plaza Deck and working up. At regular intervals I want to add 'still shots' from the Princess released videos of the interiors so that we can start getting a full grasp on what the ship has to offer. Each new segment will deal with a particular venue or feature.

THis is a wonderful idea.... thanks for starting this thread.... We just booked on the 5 day Caribbean Inauguaral... and can't wait... the IC and Piazza are some of my favorite elements and I can't wait to see the expanded version... especially Gelato.

The pictures actually remind me of the layout on the Celebrity Solstice.

So far the Piazza and atrium remind me a lot of the Ruby Princess. Several of the main venues like the International Cafe and Vines are in the exact same spot but with larger seating areas and new venues all around them.

Definitely agree with you about comparison to the Ruby... also, I've experience Alfredo's on the "refurb" of the Grand... which I also loved!

Vines -

Now with expanded seating and larger ocean view windows the Vines Wine Bar serves a selection of unique new- and old-world vintage wines along with gourmet delicacies with over 30 different wines available by the glass. Complimented by fine artisan meats, cheeses, and gourmet delicacies, a daily selection of sushi and tapas are also available and are complimentary with any beverage purchase.

I plan on hitting Alfredo's at least three times for lunch or dinner. It will be interesting to see what this 'expanded menu' includes. Wish I was doing a B2B or anything longer than 7-nights. :D

330 days and counting...

I was actually booked on that sailing first then moved over to a December sailing. I've never done a cruise over Halloween and I'm curious how they'll integrate that holiday into the Caribbean Maiden Voyage?

We are booked on the maiden TA in Oct. I am most looking forward to exploring a

new ship. One that I have never been on before. Imagine 18 days of looking for

out of the way places, areas with great vistas. I do not think 18 days is enough.

There are other threads for those people! ;)

Well it certainly bears repeating! :D

I'm hoping for a new video soon from Princess on the Nightlife aspects of the Royal Princess. I think we are about due for another update. I don't imagine we'll start seeing real pictures of her interiors anytime soon as they're probably a mess. Perhaps by mid-April Princess will grace is with some sneak peeks of her progress. Until then we'll have to find ways to keep ourselves occupied! ;)

Any new press releases, new information, or pictures of the ship we can try and put into this single thread so everything stays together and not spread out too much across the forum in the coming months.

Hopefully everyone booked on the new Royal Princess will pitch in!!! Maybe we can keep this going for a while until the first passengers are aboard! :D

Thank you for starting this thread. The positive outlook is fantastic! And so is all the info. Keep up the great work.... :)

Hey, I remember you from one of the Roll Calls I had to bow out of. It was either the Caribbean Princess Bermuda Sampler from last year or the Royal Princess Caribbean Inaugural. I think I made a comment how NUTS everyone was on the Roll Call and all the fun Aussies that were in attendance. Were you the one with the barrel full of baby joeys? :D

I am looking forward to the price drop after the new ship booking frenzy wears off. Don't wear her out before us more frugal cruisers have a chance to check her out.

Meanwhile, I will have to be content reading reviews and looking at pictures posted by those of you who with early bookings. (hint).

Before moving onwards and upwards to the Deck 6 and Deck 7 atrium venues I wanted to include Sabatini's, the Tuscan inspired specialty restaurant which is now conveniently located on Deck 5 just off of the atrium forward of Vines. I think that this new location is much, much better than other Princess ships where it is located way up on Deck 14 aft, far removed from the rest of the ships main entertainment, bar, and lounge areas. The expanded restaurant should become more popular now that it is much closer to the hub of activity on Royal Princess.

Sabatini's -

From Princess Cruises:

"With a menu specializing in Italian cuisine and premium seafood, Sabatini's offers a refined yet casual atmosphere that includes extensive personal attention from our wait staff and is sure to leave you feeling like you just stepped into an Italian ristorante. Inspired by the art and cuisine of Tuscany, Sabatini’s can be a romantic dinner for two or the choice for a grand celebration.

Sabatini's has recently introduced a fresh, new menu - now served a la carte and featuring the bold and sophisticated flavors of signature pastas and authentic Italian specialties, as well as an irresistible selection of secondi temptations and delectable desserts."

Also near Sabatini's you will find the Shore Excursions Desk and the Guest Relations Passenger Services Desk.

Here is a slightly expanded map of the Deck 5 atrium area showing the location of Sabatini's in relation to the rest of the previously covered venues:

great thread! We are booked on an August Mediterranean cruise on the Royal. I have never been on a really new ship before so this will be exciting. the one thing I am missing is the huge balconies connected to Dolphin Mini-suites and Caribe balcony cabins..it appears from the pictures and plans, that the balconies are much smaller. Does anyone have any indication of the actual size?

Wonder if there will be anything like the Adagio Bar?

Thanks again for the photos!

Between the International Cafe and Vines Wine Bar in the atrium there is a piano and an enclosure with comfortable seating, one deck up and just forward of the atrium there is Club 6 off of the Casino, then one more deck up at the top of the atrium is Crooners. Lots of others venues close enough to Sabatini's for a pre-dinner drink and relaxing or post dinner dancing and music. :D
