Duck Creek Posted January 15, 2013 #27 Share Posted January 15, 2013 Were you perhaps looking at segments of a world cruise? World cruises tend to be about 100+ days and they usually start and end in the same place. The Princess ones that start in Sydney, end in Sydney. To an Australian, that is an around the world cruise:D
Willem Ruys Posted January 15, 2013 #28 Share Posted January 15, 2013 Were you perhaps looking at segments of a world cruise? World cruises tend to be about 100+ days and they usually start and end in the same place. Seabourn, Silversea and Regent world cruises start in North America and end in Europe. They are VERY $$$ in all categories. HAL's world cruise is fairly cheap and so many repeaters every year ignore the Shorex Dept. which IS the biggest profit maker per person. Not many but a core group of gamblers play much in the casino and souvenir sales in the logo shop are slow, too. I worked around the world in the ELLINIS in 1973...THAT was fun for a 22 year old....the HAL world cruises we did in the ROTTERDAM and the AMSTERDAM (2 each) and QE2 not nearly the fun the ELLINIS was on her transatlantic from the USA to the UK, migrants from Europe, Australians and others north.
