TurtleTagger Posted January 14, 2013 #3 Share Posted January 14, 2013 With full facilities... Well that will not end up being an uncrowded and quiet beach. :D
caribsun Posted January 14, 2013 #4 Share Posted January 14, 2013 Well that will not end up being an uncrowded and quiet beach. :D I know that:) but was just trying to get more info before a recommendation. If you do recommend a quite beach most times they come back asking if chairs or food is available. :D OP is a newbie.
TurtleTagger Posted January 15, 2013 #5 Share Posted January 15, 2013 To caribsun's point, and my jest, a beach with amenities like a restaurant/bar, chair and umbrella rentals, etc...will not be quiet. If simply your towel and maybe a restroom is acceptable, you have options like the Governor's Beach or Cemetery Beach sections of Seven Mile Beach and possibly Smith Cove Bacadere (small beach and if any other fellow cruisers know of it, it can get a bit claustrophobic). drew sailbum Posted January 15, 2013 #6 Share Posted January 15, 2013 Rent a car and drive out to the eastern districts. You have a few options of quiet spots you will likely have all to yourself. But, as TurtleTagger noted, you will have to settle for just restrooms on site. No watersports or chair rental operation will set up in a location without a lot of foot traffic. Cayman Kai Public Beach in the district of North Side, a short walk from Rum Point, is usually empty. The same can be said for Colliers Public Beach in East End. Both have restroom facilities and not much more. Heritage Beach in the East End community of Colliers is little more than a spot to park and put down a towel. sand on my feet Posted January 16, 2013 Author #7 Share Posted January 16, 2013 Thanks to everyone for their replies, it all supports what I have been reading. We are in fact looking for just the sand and the beach, we can get food and drink elsewhere.
Colorado Kat Posted January 18, 2013 #8 Share Posted January 18, 2013 Maybe stop at a grocery store and bring along a picnic?
