85yo traveller with walking frame

Recommended Posts

We are trying to work out a family cruise for 4 plus our 85 year old Mum who uses either a walking frame or walking stick.

Currently considering either -

Royal Caribbean (Rhapsody) cruise Sydney to Vanuatu 10 November or

Celebrity Solstice, 23 October, Sydney to Fiji

The seas are supposedly higher in October, would this be much of a concern. I'm thinking we will need to get a wheelchair for Mum so she can fully enjoy the entire ship but sometimes she will want to use either her walker or stick.

Any thoughts, ideas, suggestions and help appreciated.

They would not allow anyone with a wheel chair to use the tender and it was challenging at time for those of us with good balance in FP.

Thanks for your thoughts. I think using the tender would be out of the question too, she isn't very steady at the best of times.

We tendered to every island except Tahiti and Raiatea.
