I am going on my first cruise in 3 days as a single woman... CRAZY.. and it will be crazy not to sail without my soon to be exhusband. Our cruises in the past have always centered around what he wants to do, which is usually trivia. I've never actually sat on deck during the day and soaked up the sun, and went in the pool. I rarely ordered many drinks because the husband was stingy with the money, and I wasn't allowed to play in the casino at all!

I'm kinda worried about money, but I'm super excited!!!!Keep your eyes out for a review.... I've ditched the Angry Bird and I'm going to take Gummi Bears on vacation! :)

I've never looked before.. do they ever have singles events on board???

CHEERS to you and I know that you are going to have an awsome time.

I like to cruise 2 times a year, one with DH and couples and one with my BFF. Two totally different cruises....I have to say..... my BFF cruise is EXCELLENT TO OUTSTANDING;)

Also, you just never know who you may meet:o!!

Go and have a great time. I hope it does you and your friend a world of good.

Never went on a cruise after my divorce from my first wife , but did do quite a few other vacations.

It felt oddlanning teh first one without her , but then I remembered that for the last 2 years we were married we hardly went anywhere together anyway, and when we did she was ina big hurry to get home, or else there would be a big deal about it when we got home.

Went to Vegas with a bunch of friends and had a ball, didn't have to keep looking to see if I was getting the death stare because I was having too good a time, Didn't have to keep looking at my watch to see that I didn't go over the allotted time to have fun. :( I just had a good time.

i know it's not an easy time, and a big adjustment, but you will get through this. Best of Luck :)

Thanks everyone that defended me. I was NOT degrading him, nor was I trying to make him look bad, though if thats the way he took it so be it.

I was only trying to say that this will be an ENTIRELY different experience and I'm interested in seeing how it goes. I added that stuff because it's stuff I found pertinent to why it would be so different. We always got along while cruising and if anything it was the time we were happiest, and one of the happiest things we did together..... so for all those who are reading WAY TOO MUCH into my original post. I apologize you read it that way.

One of my BFF's flies into town tomorrow... so ready!

They will probably be married too. Single and hot single guys, sorry not on a cruiseship, at least that is what my SIL tells me.

hehehe... well that is probably the case most of the time. But this IS Spring Break time so you never know!

Hope you have a wonderful time and maybe meet some who will end up cruising again in a group.

Are you the one who wrote the Angry Bird review a couple of years ago? I thoroughly enjoyed reading that review. What was funny was at the time I didn't know what Angry Bird was all about.

Some of the younger single/divorced law enforcement men that work with DH are planning one. Perhaps many couples have not noticed them, but every time you see a young man walking by himself, does not mean he is with a woman or man. When I used to travel solo, I had a group who adopted me as their mom, and they watched out for me. They were probably in their mid 20s. I met a New York cutie about your age,who ate at my table. He said he was having a blast, and he came solo. Don't believe the hype that everybody is married or coupled, because that is not true.

OP...have a wonderful time. As young women, look out for each other, and stay safe. Have fun, lady.

Have a wonderful time! There are singles meet and greets, however, if you stop by any of the bars i'm sure you will find people hanging out. Usually the best place in the evening is the bar near the casino. I met a guy from the same town as me on a cruise to Canada a few years back. It didn't work out but we see each other around town and are friends on Facebook. So, you never know what could happen. Enjoy doing what you want to do either way. Don't forget the review! LOL!:)

Maybe you could seek out the cruise director and ask him about singles events onboard.

Congrats on your first Gummi Bears cruise!

Boy I can not understand your soon to be ex. A vacation is just not a break from work, it is suppose to be a break from the every day normal life. The best thing about a cruise is that when at sea you enjoy the ship. That does not mean together. I do my thing, get up early watch the sun come up on a new day, 2 to 3 mile run up deck, catch breakfast, find a lounge chair and pass out in the sun for the rest of the day. DW sleeps in for a bit, goes to the gym, enjoys breakfast reading Capers, and then joins me on deck. My college age kids do their own thing knowing where I (we) are, but DD will enlist me in a couple of trivia games.

Enjoy your cruise and get DOD and toast your new cruise life!

Do I have to sign autographs...

Only on the drink charge slips... :D

If you're curious about being single/solo on a cruise, there is a Singles Cruises and Solo Cruisers board here under the Special Interest Cruising topic. You can get a lot of useful info on cruising on your own there.

As for finding hot, single guys - perhaps your odds are better during spring break, especially if you're into the bar scene. But I suggest you don't go into the cruise assuming you'll get lucky finding anyone -- that way you won't be disappointed if you don't, and you can be pleasantly surprised if you do.

The best thing I can recommend is to relax, don't worry, and just have fun.
