Host Andy - Live From Constellation

Hi Everyone,

Friday March 14, 2013 Update

It was a very hectic day, but everything worked out as planned. I had a very enjoyable, though brief visit onboard Azamara Quest. For those interested in Azamara, the ship looks great, and the recent updates to Quest were very appealing. I was only onboard for about 90 minutes, though it was time well spent.

Embarkation on Constellation was a breeze. Plenty of wheelchairs, and pier staff eager to assist. The Miami shoreside personnel are fantastic. I wish they would share their secrets of success with their associates in Ft Lauderdale.

Constellation looks great as always, and most of the staff from last month remains onboard. The happy crew are eager to assist.

Both Lunch and Dinner were excellent. We are fortunate to have the same waiter (Renato) from our last cruise, and he's fantastic. The Escargot is currently unavailable, and they've been replaced with the crab stuffed mushrooms once again. When I inquired about it, I was assured it's temporary, and the Escargot will return to the menu, when there is availability.

Damian is Constellation's Cruise Director. He recently joined the ship, and is outstanding. I believe he's currently Celebrity's most senior Cruise Director. We made our usual nightly donation at the casino. The casino staff (for the most part) is very friendly.

Here's some welccome news : No percussionist or DJ at the Martini Lounge tonight, though I was advised the DJ will return tomorrow night. The percussionist (thankfully !) is relocated to the Disco. This is exactly what I suggested on my "live from" thread last month, and I truly hope this will prove to be a very fair solution. I'm very pleased that Celebrity has listened. More about this in tomorrow's report.

Key West tomorrow, but it's a bit disappointing that Connie must depart at 1:30 pm. I understand that it's a must for the logistics of the current itinerary, but I hope that in the future, Celebrity will find a way to make the stay in Key West a bit longer.

More tomorrow. Have a great Friday !

Note to Lois : Damian says hi :)

Glad to hear things are great and the percussionist is no longer in the Atrium. We enjoyed him for a few nights in Feb, but by the end of our cruise had had it.

Next year, the Key West stop departs at 5:00, a much better time.

Andy, keep enjoying yourself and thanks for posting.

Was on Connie last week. Had the stuffed mushrooms. They were great. Served like escargot. The entertainment was great. The martini bar DJ and percussionists were annoying but the rest were wonderful. Who else is on board entertainment wise?

Andy....how long is it taking you to post on this forum from the ship. I had a terrible time on the Millenium....took over 5 minutes to find my thread and post to it. What's your experience?

Hi Host Andy

Have a great cruise. Love the Connie.

I am off topic but I will be brief. I have seen the notice advising about CC accessibility issues but this is something else. Up to a few days ago there were 21 people registered for our Connections Party and suddenly there were none. I was the 1st to register and received an email confirming the registration. Today there are 2 registered due to a new roll call member registering. Would it be possible to forward this message to the appropriate person or post here what I should do? I have tried to contact LauraS, and Host Joe but all of the links have a pop up saying … default client not properly installed. Sorry for the interruption here.

Thank you in advance.

P.S if you see Elizma who is one of the great wine experts on board tell her hello from me.

Andy, can you please stop by Al Baccio and see if you can confirm Host Anne's latest interpretation of what is and what is not included with Classic Beverage packages regarding coffees. I was told recently on the Eclipse that every non alchoholic coffee drink on Al Baccio menu is included in the Classic Package. Word recently from others including Host Anne is that "other" coffee drinks at end of AlBaccio menu including the IGLU frappes are only good with the Premium non alchoholic or alchoholic package...not Classic. As a lover of these drinks, this is especially important now as I am booking and deciding whether to take the classic drink package in the 123 special offer..would hate to take it and not have my IGLU at Al Baccio included. thanks!

Hi Everyone,

The internet was problematic today, ranging from slowness, dropped connections, and being unavailable on several occasions. It's a huge pain in the neck not having in cabin Wi-Fi, but the issue will be resolved on Connie's upcoming Drydock.

We are having a fantastic time onboard, and I'm working on obtaining as many answers to your questions as possible. However, due to the internet issues... I will probably wait until I return home on Monday to post the replies. I will try to post another update on Saturday or Sunday. Thanks for your patience, and have a great weekend !
