Valor Scenic OV Room 9199 pics

Recommended Posts

We just returned from a 7 day cruise on the Valor last night and had the scenic OV room. Here are a few pictures. We LOVED the room. I slept with the shade open every night (not with the light on, of course) It was heaven waking up to either the Ocean View or the view of the ports each morning. Going to sleep watching the moon and stars was awesome too.

I will start a review later tonight. BTW, the cruise was AWESOME. :D

Panoramic view with the infamous "C" drawn on the window. I remember reading a review where someone was complaining that the "C" made the view obstructed.

Great pictures, we are staying in the scenic OV on the Sunshine in January. Do you happen to have any at sea pictures of the view?

Thankyou so so much for the pictures. DH and I have 9197 booked for September. Would love to see pictures taken from the room of other ports. The only thing I am a little disappointed in in the room is that there is only one comfortable chair.

Great forward facing view..must have been wonderful while at sea.

How was the motion? Did you feel it more being that far forward? Or no difference?

There is definitely more motion up front, it wasn't so bad though. Neither me or my husband were uncomfortable.

Yes, the one chair thing was a bummer...but the couch is comfortable. I know, it's not the same. Here are a few more port pics...

I "think" this was St Kitts...

Some other ship that I've never heard of...St Kitts

The very front of the ship...

I think this may be St Lucia....the windows were dirty because it rained a little that day.

The only thing I am a little disappointed in in the room is that there is only one comfortable chair.

Most cabins do not even have one chair-- we get the sofa and a a vanity chair.

We have 9200 on Glory come August. (I dont know if I would book a regular scenic oceanview over 9200 compared to a balcony.)

I really want to try 9200

At night time-- can you see the stars?

On past cruises on balconies-- people always seem to leave their lights on.

One cruise it was amazing out there- we turned off the light to the cabin, closed the drapes-- and wow.

I hope the view at night is like that

Thanks for posting the different awesome view pictures. Question about the temperature. Did it get hot with the sun beaming on that big window? Did it get cold at night because of the same reason? Was there thermostat for heat if needed? Thanks.

there are no hooks on the wall -- the place where they hang the breakfast door hanger, or the snoozin, cruisin sign??

The room was warm but only because the thermostat is "different" in these cabins and I wasn't so sure how to use them. They're digital! I finally figured out how to use it on about the 3rd day of the cruise.

The sun didn't make much of a difference to me though.

One more thing....these rooms have flat screen TV's. Our friends who traveled with us had a balcony room on the 6th floor and had those old tube TVs. Not that it matters much, I just thought I would mention it. :)

The hooks were on the wall near the thermostat. (near the bathroom) You can't see them because of the angle of the pic. :)

Thanks for the Photos...there was a thread from 5/6/2012 in regards to Valor OV Cabin 9199 which also had photos. I saw this thread moments ago on the first page of the Carnival Forum (5/24/2013).

In a Google search I also found this complaint regarding Valor OV Cabin 9199.

This is the Google Title Displayed:

Ripoff Report | Carnival Cruise Lines Complaint...

Whether this complaint was truthful or not, the responses were not very logical, as they all addressed the "C" on the window which was just an "in addition" from the complainer and the only photos he/she had, and not the crux of the real problem described. Also the date of the complaint 3/2011, was just after a 2/2011 Refurbishment of the Carnival Valor (maybe the C indicated something which was to be done, but didn't happen)...anyway the C is minor.

Some things with this OV Cabin 9199 could have been changed by now... but I'm interested in responses to this complaint from those who actually had the Valor OV Cabin 9199.

I know my response is really late, but I had this exact room and I had NO complaints. NONE. The room was perfect. Well...besides that dang "C"! LOL...

We just got back from our Valor cruise (June 16 - 23, 2013). We were in room 9197 and our kids were in room 9199. No complaints! Rooms were great! 9199 DOES have the very small "C" on the window. It looks like someone forgot to erase it when they were installing the windows - it is sandwiched in between all the glass. It is small - maybe 3" tall. Not a big deal! We LOVED these rooms and will book them again!
