I noticed flags at half-staff in my town today. It might be because the funeral for the MIT police officer was today.

Yes -- many of us are flying our flags at half staff until all the funerals are over.

Officially, the flags were to be at half staff until sundown April 20. I couldn't find any new proclamations explaining why they are still that way. I get e-mail notifications from http://halfstaff.org/ every time the flag is to be flown at half staff.

Thanks for the link! I worked for public safety in our small town...and was usually the one who would get the emails telling us to put our flags at half mast! Love the link as I will now know when and what for....now that I am retired and out of the loop:)
