Just got back from the CB this week. I had a room on Emerald deck which is where the tender boats are. About mid week, I am just chillin out in my birthday suit (get it??), looking out our window, watching a little TV when I see something out of the corner of my eye. There, right outside my window is two little maitenance guys painting. What a show they got? I was kinda like..oh well, what can I do about it??? So I crawled to the window and shut the curtains. Funny though, I read yesterday on here somewhere the same thing happened to someone else. Hmmmmm?????

Last cruise I went on - the last night I hit the casino.. my parents went to bed in one cabin, and my daughter went to bed in the other.. it was just me out and about.

At 2:00am I realzied I better get back and drag my luggage out into the hall for the porters... so I went back to the room, put on my night gown, pulled my luggage out and *bang* the slammed shut......and locked... I was out in the hall with my nightgown on... no robe  So I banged on my door, but my daughter wouldn't wake up... so I banged on my parents door, got no answer, they were sound asleep.

I heard some thumping down the hall and saw an older man pulling his luggage out - I approached him (so embarrassed) and asked If I could use his phone as I was locked out.. He let me into his cabin - it was a tiny inside cabin and his wife was asleep - I was standing next to her, dialling the front desk - no answer... I noticed her teeth were in a cup of water next to the phone :D - still no answer, so I called my room, no answer... so I called my parents room.. FINALLY like after 30 rings - my Dad answered...

I thanked the man for helping me, just as his wife was waking up to find me in the room and asking him what was going on LOL

So I head back to our cabin and there is my Dad out in the hall in his underwear - you know - I lived 39 years without seeing him like that - and I hope I live another 39 years before I have to see that again!

Almost every cruise I have heard stories of people who, while wandering around nude in their cabins, were surprised to see crewmen washing windows or working on the lifeboats.

Wear a robe, close the drapes, or travel in an inside cabin.

My mother who was travelling with us was taking an inordinately long time to get dressed for dinner. We knocked on her cabin door at intervals to be told she would be ready soon. Eventually she appeared but looked very hunched up, stooped... bent over!! It was if she had suddenly lost a couple of inches in height. Now struggling to walk down the corridor, I asked was everything all right. When she told me, I giggled for hours (indeed I still smile to this day).

The dress she was wearing was styled so it had a dropped waist i.e. the waist sat level with her hips. To facilitate hanging, it had two thin ribbon cords attached to the inside waist of the dress which you then hooked over the arms of a coat hanger. My mother for some reason thought these ribbons were straps of some sort which needed to be worn and had put her arms through them. Given that they weren't very long they were pulling her shoulders down. I honestly don't know how she had managed it in the first place. In the end we had to cut her out of the dress.

I love all these stories!

I can't tell mine, because it would embarrass my father too much (even though he doesn't read these boards.) :D

kruisey - You are so funny. Sounds like something I would do...like showing up for tennis last Tuesday night and getting mad at my neighbor who had taken the court time I had for three years, only to discovering that it was Wednesday and I had missed my game on Tuesday. :o

On our last night I forgot to put out the luggage so DH hunted me down in the show lounge to put out the bags. Since most of the other bags had been picked up on our deck he decided to "help me". Soon the steward had taken all of the bags. I decided I would try to see the end of the show, looking around I noticed all my shoes were gone. I had to walk barefoot to the store and hope to find size 10 shoes. The only thing I could find were some water shoes. Boy did they look good with my outfit all night.

Antone who has been on the RCI Voyager class will appreciate this.....You know how you usually go the same way back to your room so you don't get lost....well we were in an aft cabin on the Navigator and I accidently turned left instead of right to go down the hall to my room....just walking along and got to the end looked up and the room numbers were wrong and realized I had walked to front of the ship instead of the back so I had to turn around and walk all the way to the back......boy did I get my exercise!

I read a similiar thread, and it was hilarous. Most of the funniest postings had to do with cruisers coming back from Carlos and Charlies in Cozumel. I'll tell the same story I told on that posting. It's not so much funny or embarrassing, but freaky. My DH and I had gone to bed and were asleep for awhile. I heard a knock at the door, opened it, and found my husband in the hallway in his underware (that's what he sleeps in). I said to my DH, "what are you doing in the hallway in your underware?". He looked me dead in the eye and said "I must have been sleep walking". When I questioned him the next morning, I put together that he had still been asleep when I found him in the hallway. Lord knows where he could have walked to (in his underware) and how did he find the right cabin. Now on cruises, he puts a chair in front of the door at night. He's petrified of sleep walking and falling off the ship! I'm glad he didn't knock on the wrong door and end up in the brig!

Heehee, posted this previously:

I did a single share 3-nighter Carnival LA-Ensenada. I roomed with a nice elderly gent twice my age. However, he snored, farted, and drank like a fish. On the first night, I awoke to a commotion (louder than his snoring/farting). He was sleep-walking in his boxers down the hallways, and security men were trying to find the right room. He was confused, didn't even know he was on a ship. Didn't sleep well the next two nights....

I always pride myself in never getting sea-sick, but many years ago during a very choppy crossing to Norway, I went out to savour the bracing air and to watch the ship pitch and roll in the swell. I stood leaning on the railing for about twenty minutes enjoying the spectacle, but was getting a bit damp. It was only when removing my polo-necked sweater back in my cabin that I realised (as it slipped over my face) that I had been leaning on someone's vomit. Before I could fully remove the sweater I had added copious amounts of my own....ahh the luxury life.

I arrived a few minutes late to a Bingo game and didn't know the instructions. I called out bingo a little later after having five numbers. Puzzled the caller said you can't have BINGO I haven't called enough numbers yet. I didn't realize you had to fill up the whole card and I had a straight line five numbers quickly.

This was in front of four hundred people in the room.

A group of friends were playing a scavenger hunt game & when they ask for a womens pantyhose one of the guys in our group run up & picked up a female friend who was wearing pantyhose. It so happened that he had these round metal buttons on a vest & when he picked her up hear wrist slide against the buttons & after it was all said & done, my friend ended up with 8 stitches in her wrist because of the buttons. The upside is the doctor on the ship was "georgeous"!!!

On our last cruise, we were heading back to the ship from the beach about 4:00 in the afternoon. As we were heading back there was a group of older adults 60's to 80's weaving in front of us. 2 of them were almost carrying a man who was about 80. We asked if we could help. One of the women was giggling and grabbed my husband to tell him that they had been at Carlo's and Charlies. The man they were carrying was her uncle. He fell out of the cab when they got to the port. They were going to try to make it to the beach, but stopped at Carlo's and Charlies for lunch. Needless to say, she told us that they ran out of cash because they were drinking so much and had to use their cc to pay. She told us that by the end, the ladies were lifting their shirts to compare ***** size. We just about died laughing. When we got back to the ship, we were telling our friends who of course thought we were making this up. About 2 nights later on one of the dress up nights we ran into this group at one of the photo shots. Were they embarassed when we asked about their Uncle (if he was all right). Never to old to have fun. This was a great group from Canada

We were on the Celebrity Mercury in February. One early morning while in port I was sitting on the balcony reading a book when I heard some noise. Next thing I know this contraption is moving along the balconies on our deck with two people sitting in it. As they pass by me, I said hello, get no response but next thing I know, the balcony gets soaked. I luckily jumped out of the way before I got soaked too. They were cleaning the windows above our deck and they didnt even warn me tell me what they were doing as they were busy talking to one another. So our cabin steward came in and dried off the table and chairs. A few minutes later, our breakfast arrives and we are sitting outside enjoying our meal when I hear the same contraption and look down the way to see it COMING BACK!! My DH and I grabbed the tray, coffee, and whatever we could and ran inside just in time. Needless to say we called the front desk to complain. If they would have at least warned us we wouldnt have been outside ( we knew better next port) . We got mega apologies and a bottle of wine for our inconvenience. Needless to say, the maintenance staff must have gotten a talking to. We were definitely not impressed.

We had 1 & maybe a 1/2 funny encounter on our last cruise. The first was when the room service gentleman rushed past us with just a rediwhip can on his cart. I had to ask him if he was heading to the honeymoon cabin just down the hall. He cracked up and almost put his cart in into the wall. The next sighting was on formal night. An elderly gentleman walk into the bar dressed to the nines from the waist up. Below that he only had on boxer shorts, black socks and shoes. He was escorted out of there quickly so it may have been more tragic than funny. We never found out the rest of that story.

I passed up this thread for a few nights and decided to give it a look. Three or four of these posts absolutely cracked me up. My wife came in to see what I was laughing so hard about.

On one cruise, our cruise director warned everyone about our next port and the drinks that are served at Carlos and Charlies. He went on to say that the drinks served there are bigger and stronger. In fact, on a recent stop in that port, three guys from Auburn University missed the ship. Some passengers said they last saw them at Carlos and Charlies. They found our later that these guys had gotten so smashed that they got married......

to each other. Of course being an Alabama fan (Auburn's biggest rival), I thought the joke was great.
