klfrodo Posted May 6, 2013 #4 Share Posted May 6, 2013 3rd and 4th passenger rates are normally less than 1st and 2nd passengers. Web sites used to indicate this very clearly. Now, however, if you do a mock booking with only 2 passengers, then another with 4 passengers,,,,, you'll just see a "per passenger" reduction in price. Loving My Life Posted May 6, 2013 #5 Share Posted May 6, 2013 I believe it varies by ship and sailing. During the off season, 3rd and 4th passengers are often less than full fare. For example, when pricing in May (when school is still in session), it was $749 for pax 1 and 2, and $349 for pax 3 and 4. This would be harder to find during the summer, Christmas, and Feb/April vacations.
emelvee Posted May 6, 2013 #6 Share Posted May 6, 2013 When we booked our upcoming cruise, it was something like $1,119 1st/2nd pax, and $829 3rd/4th. Rates are now $879 1st/2nd (about a 21% drop) and $289 3rd/4th (a 65% drop).
big_duck Posted May 6, 2013 #7 Share Posted May 6, 2013 Adults could be third or fourth passenger and kids in their own cabin would be passenger 1 and 2. So yes kids rates are the same.
Paul's_wife Posted May 6, 2013 #8 Share Posted May 6, 2013 We bring our grandkids also and we pay less for the third and fourth person in the cabin. Remember though that the tips will also be added for however many in your cabin. We paid $11.50 per day each for the four of us when we went last year. irishnyc Posted May 6, 2013 #9 Share Posted May 6, 2013 You pay less for third and fourth passenger, but it has nothing to do with the passenger's age. ETA: Of course tips are the same per person because its a flat rate, not a percentage.
Tithonus Posted May 6, 2013 #10 Share Posted May 6, 2013 Looking to take the grand kids ...there ages are two six and seven...are the rates the same no matter what age? Nope. Just take advantage of the 3/4 rate, which is available to any age.
