Millennium Transpacific 4/25/13 Review

Celebrity told us we needed a visa to get off the ship in Petropavlovsk without a tour. But the Russian Consulate here in San Francisco said that Petropavlovsk is one of two Russian ports where cruise passengers do not need a visa to wander on their own for the day. In fact, we met a couple of passengers who did get off the Millennium that day without a visa, without a tour.

 

Our experience? We waited all morning to get our passports back, intending to go ashore, then lost interest, gave up and stayed on the ship. The day was cold and overcast, and we only wanted to see the church on Russian Easter. To see and hear what we missed:
