swim13 Posted July 19, 2013 Author #276 Share Posted July 19, 2013 CENTRAL PARK What an awesome place! There are so many cool features everywhere. It is a very authentic place, all the shops and restaurants are very upscale. There are complimentary umbrellas at all the doors in case it starts raining, hand sanitizer stations, maps, park benches, chess tables, all real living plants, bird noises by day, crickets by night. There is just so much to experience! I remember one night laying on one of the park benches, looking up at the stars, hearing crickets and the wind blowing on the trees, thinking to myself, am I really on a ship?! What an awesome area. swim13 Posted July 19, 2013 Author #286 Share Posted July 19, 2013 (edited) And we are done with the pictures from the morning. As I said before, I will work on the pictures of the tour tonight and tomorrow. I'm not thinking I'll get to posting them tonight because it will just be too late. Luckily I am off tomorrow so I should be able to finish up. :( See you soon, hope you liked the pictures from the last day so far!! :D Edited July 19, 2013 by swim13

Sheryl1133 Posted July 19, 2013 #289 Share Posted July 19, 2013 All I have to say is WOW! What an awesome review. We sailed the Oasis in early June and booked the Allure for June 2014. We love the western itinerary mainly because of Labadee and the zip line is a huge fave with my husband and 12 yr old daughter. BTW, I was happy to see Allan Brooks was the CD on the Allure. He was absolutely AWESOME in 2010 when we were on the Freedom. We miss him and hope he will continue on the Allure for 2014 but as we all know they shift them from ship to ship so who knows but he's a top notch CD for sure. We did the All Access Tour on the Oasis and absolutely loved it. Can't wait to see your pics. Thanks for a great review and allowing me to re-live our cruise.:)
TAZOUT Posted July 19, 2013 #290 Share Posted July 19, 2013 Wow! I am finally caught up...and waiting for the finale, of course. I noticed your posts on Gambee's review back in May when I first discovered Cruise Critic, but I had no clue what a treat I was going to receive a few months later when you started publishing. Many thanks for your insight. As you can see, my family sails in 10 days, so we are in serious countdown mode and I am obsessed with all things Allure! One question: I've noticed some people talking about bringing bottled water and non-alcoholic beverages. Although we have all purchased the beverage package, it would be nice to have a stash in the room. Do you (or anyone) have any advice about this? Put it in the checked baggage? Thanks, Tamara

cruzinlady1947 Posted July 19, 2013 #292 Share Posted July 19, 2013 How did they get statues of my husband and I? All he does is talk, talk, talk, and I can't get a get a word in edgewise. :p Thank goodness he doesn't do anything here on CC. I guess that is why I do all my talking here.;) More great pictures. Keep them coming. Gwen :)

Thetrail Posted July 19, 2013 #294 Share Posted July 19, 2013 Have to thank you for a fabulous review along with the wonderful photos! Have been on Allure four times so far and will be sailing on her again for a B2B in may next year. Love the crew, the ship, the food, the shows, the casino, etc etc.The only problem is now next may will seem like forever after your review!!!:)

Thanks, Tamara Hi TAZOUT, When my family went on the Oasis we bought a case of water and a case of coke at the Publix in Fort Lauderdale. We stuck a Royal Caribbean luggage tag on them and put them with our bags. They made the trip to our room no problem. I had heard of other people doing this with no issues so we tried it and there was no problem. mringenoldus Posted July 19, 2013 #297 Share Posted July 19, 2013 Mike - I know this review has required significant effort on your part, so I am really glad everyone is enjoying all your hard work! I still think you may have a career in photo journalism - there must be some way to combine that with your new major in hospitality and tourism (although I think your idea of including business is also really brilliant!) Have a great weekend! Maureen

swim13 Posted July 19, 2013 Author #299 Share Posted July 19, 2013 Woohoo!! I am still working on all of the hundreds of pictures to come, oh AND the surprise none of you have asked Gambee about! Remember to ask him for a clue?! :D Should take some more time to upload everything, etc. Unfortunately I am quickly running out of time before I need to leave for my friends grad party! Quick poll, would you rather have me post later tonight and try to get a majority of the pictures posted or just all one large post tomorrow in the afternoon? Thanks, Tamara Hi there! I was very active in Gambee's review, wasn't it amazing? He is the one who inspired me to write this, as you will notice it is pretty similar although I did not want to copy his at all! You ARE SO LUCKY, I wish I only had your wait still! :O As "4ofusreadytocruise" said, I know many people don't have issues doing that. I do know that you are allowed to take two bottles of wine per cabin though!
