Carnival Cruise Lines Announces Newest Ship to be Named 'Vista'

Sounds like a new class of ship.

Looks like Carnival just muddied the waters, as HAL already has Vista Class ships (but, yes -- not a ship named "Vista").

Solstice, Reflection, Quantum, Anthem, Allure, Oasis, Breakaway, Getaway --- I don't think any of those are recycled names.

I was aware of the vista class ships at holland America and was wondering why carnival would create this kind if confusion. Especially. When both lines are owned by carnival.

John when it was first announced that carnival placed the order called it breeze 2.0 class. This may be the case. It wouldn't be the first time a cruise line called the class different then the first ship.

I'll tell you - if "Breeze 2.0" takes the Breeze plan and only makes a few tweaks (why would I think that... LOL), then count me as not very impressed. Being only 4% larger than the Breeze, the Vista won't have room for much more. I understand that Carnival is not interested in playing the "mine is bigger than yours" game, but I'd of thought that they would have at least pushed the 150,000-ton point. I'll wait to see what details emerge over the next year or more.
