PRINCESSTHE BEST Posted July 27, 2013 #1 Share Posted July 27, 2013 Following intense criticism and complaints from passengers, P&O have issued the following statement to passengers on Aurora to USA and Canada Having conducted a further review of the recent changes we implemented on your cruise and the impact that this may have had on your holiday, we are pleased to inform you that we have reinstated the port times as previously scheduled. Aurora will now depart from Portland, Halifax in the early evening while Quebec returns to an evening departure. Other port time changes are detailed on this notification. We apologise if our previous itinerary review caused you any concern or inconvenience. May we take this opportunity to wish you a wonderful holiday on board Aurora. IMHO they 'tried it on' with passengers and it has backfired big time. They have had to reinstate the original port times right across the fleet! They will have to think up some other way to get more money off the passengers:eek:

I emailed P&O a couple of weeks ago and got a meaningless email in reply .... which I then complained about. There were lots of Anyway pleased to say we're back to our original timing. Well done for listening P&O :)
Lovemychoos Posted July 27, 2013 #3 Share Posted July 27, 2013 Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..... I wonder if their legal 'boffins' saw a few lawsuits looming up ahead, lol Call me an old cynic, but can't see P&O bowing to passenger pressure otherwise  Lou

But of course that is you, why on earth are you taking a 25 night cruise with P&O I do not know, there must be something you like about them. jeanlyon Posted July 27, 2013 #5 Share Posted July 27, 2013 My ports have not changed and I have already looked at cruise ship schedules for Malta and Venice and we leave Malta at 1500 and Venice at 1600. Can';t see that changing.

Gan Canny Dai Happy that they have returned what we paid for in the first place??? Behave!!!! They should never have done it and you know it! Yes I will continue to raid P&O for bargain basement prices. £55-80 pppn and I'll willingly eat their food and watch their entertainment but for quality cruising and destinations I'll continue with Princess and Celebrity:)

davedex Posted July 28, 2013 #8 Share Posted July 28, 2013 All they need to do now is a u turn on their stupid pricing structure and they may reduce the amounts of passengers going to other cruise lines!

Gan Canny Dai  I am not sure if you have cruised with any other lines apart from P and O or not but if you had been with Celebrity I am sure you would notice the difference, they are in my opinion, and we are all entitled to our own opinion, far better than P and O and I have to agree that for luxury they will be my first choice, I still like P and O and will continue to go with them but they are not in the same league. I have always said that P and O were the best, until I found out for myself that they are not, just because people voice that opinion doesn't mean they hate P and O
jeanlyon Posted July 28, 2013 #10 Share Posted July 28, 2013 I would agree with that. We have tried Fred O and although I wouldn't call it luxury, a lot of the things they did were better than P&O especially the buffet. Obviously the ships are smaller and do not have the entertainment, but that doesn't bother us.

We have tried Fred O and although I wouldn't call it luxury, a lot of the things they did were better than P&O especially the buffet. Obviously the ships are smaller and do not have the entertainment, but that doesn't bother us. We were in Flaam and the Black Watch was also there. We spoke to a number of passengers and all had nothing but praise for Fred O. I have to say, smaller ships can get into exciting ports not available to larger vessels. One of our best cruises was on the Royal Princess (now P&O Adonia) along the Amazon. We flew to Manaus and cruised via Devil's island to Fort Lauderdale, absolutely fabulous.:)
jeanlyon Posted July 28, 2013 #12 Share Posted July 28, 2013 We were on the Braemar and it was very friendly. the food was excellent. the buffet has white linen tablecloths and napkins and you wait to be seated. No wandering around with a tray. Super. Maybe you can't do that on a big ship, but that's why we like small ones. We are on Oriana next followed by Balmoral. Will be interesting to compare. KarateMan Posted July 29, 2013 #13 Share Posted July 29, 2013 I must admit I have been a loyal P&O cruiser for years (as well as four other lines) and have not liked some of the things P&O has done. This included. Port times are important and it seems uncompetative to run a business when your competition can indicate a arrival and departure time. I do hope to return to P&O some day as I cruised with them last July and have no bookings with them yet. Maybe 2015 is a possibility when the new ship arrives.
