patriots00celtics Posted July 28, 2013 #1 Share Posted July 28, 2013 The Half Moon Cay will be a port I will have no planned excursions for.... I was thinking a beach day with some souvenir shopping and pictures... Any suggestions for a solo traveler?

There are some excursions from the cruise line that are all water related. Basically it is sea day that happens to be on an island.

I have excursions planned for other stops, I want to just lounge on the beach in Half Moon Cay, I hear it is small enough I could walk around the whole island and take pictures? .... So then the entire island is publicly accessible?

hannibal54 Posted July 29, 2013 #5 Share Posted July 29, 2013 Walking from one end of the beach to the other would be a long hike.

pghsteelerfan Posted August 6, 2013 #7 Share Posted August 6, 2013 I walked to the end of the beach in May 2010 and it took about a half hour but I was also getting a lot of pictures. There are a lot of great photo opportunities down toward the end - beautiful scenery without others in the pictures.

DH isn't much for water or sun, but enjoyed sitting on a lounger in the shade and then later at the I Wish I Could Stay Here Forever bar. :D From what I have read, there are hiking trails, but I don't know first hand as we didn't get very far down the beach the first time we were there. cb at sea Posted August 11, 2013 #9 Share Posted August 11, 2013 Yes....it's certainly small enough to wander about....maybe 2-3 times! You can come and go from the ship as much as you want, too....so you don't HAVE to stay all day long!
