Karen Lynn Posted July 28, 2013 #1 Share Posted July 28, 2013 Anyone tell me, is there a better side to sit on? Are the Princess cars all domed?
caribill Posted July 28, 2013 #2 Share Posted July 28, 2013 One side is as good as the other as there are sights on both sides. Also, a good place to view sights is from the outside platform that is downstairs at the end of the car. The ones we were on were domed. LisaH Posted July 28, 2013 #3 Share Posted July 28, 2013 There are no bad seats...we had so much fun on our ride. The scenery is spectacular.
avalong Posted July 29, 2013 #4 Share Posted July 29, 2013 We were on the train this month and our experience was that a table for 4 (2 seats facing each other with a table in-between) is assigned to you ahead of time, so you don't have a choice of sides. However, if you really must travel facing forward, try to be among the first to board your train car so you can claim the forward-facing two seats at your assigned table. satxdiver Posted July 29, 2013 #5 Share Posted July 29, 2013 All the cars are domed and you will be seated in the dome. The cars are added to the Alaskan Railway train. Their cars are either not domed or have a small half dome but you will not be on them. The train moves slowly around 20 - 30 mph or less! Don't expect a high speed rail ride. Lew's cruise Posted July 29, 2013 #6 Share Posted July 29, 2013 I've always found that the side i'm sitting at is not as good as the other side. Lew
