Early Room available coming off red-eye Flight

We will be getting into FLL at 6:00 AM. Since we will have been in the air almost 6 hours - it would be ideal to have the hotel room available to freshen up and even for a quick cat nap.

Does anybody have any "good news" to share with their experience? Did you ever get lucky coming off a red-eye and were able to check in and use your room straight away?

Just looking for glimmers of hope, I suppose. :D Thank you all!

Each hotel checkin is always based on availability at that moment, and this of course varies greatly..

I had requested an early checkin at the Embassy Suites in Ft Lauderdale when our family of 6 was arriving on a redeye flight from the west coast...Luckily when we arrived both our rooms were ready..We checked in had the buffet breakfast and went to bed.

Worked out great for us..hope it does for you too.

Many times when we go to Europe, I will book us in the hotel the night before so it's ready when we get there. I guarantee late check in and get in touch with the hotel to let them know why it's booked this way. I've never had any issues with them canceling on me and it's always wonderful to know that our room is ready so we can rest and shower.

That's a great idea Carolyn. I would just hate to pay an additional $100 for the extra night, but maybe I'll keep it in mind. Thanks for the suggestion. :)

Dear Ashland - thanks for the response. I have noted it in our reservation and I also have "status" with the hotel chain through their rewards program. Fingers Crossed! ;)

You just never know.

In general it depends on availability. If there are lots of rooms available shouldn't be a problem.

Keith

Thanks Keith...hoping for the best!

Also, call the hotel a couple of days before your arrival and let them know of your situation. Hotels can manually manipulate the reservations systems to move rooms around.

You may lose out on other requests like having adjoining rooms or rooms near each other but it would be worth it to me to have an available hotel off a redeye. Egads!!

We fly out of San Francisco & I cannot sleep on a plane so I am a total wreck when we get in.

We fly either Jetblue or Virgin since they have straight through flights.

One gets us in at 7am the other 8am.

We always stay at the DoubleTree Gallery One.

If they have a room ready..which is almost always yes...or just a short wait...they let you check in at no extra charge.

Location is great. Walking distance to beach, shops & restaurants
