mmpadp Posted July 30, 2013 #1 Share Posted July 30, 2013 Has anyone used any or all of their onboard credit money for gambling in the ship’s casino. If so, can the remaining balance be cashed out or does it remain as an onboard credit?
firefly333 Posted July 30, 2013 #2 Share Posted July 30, 2013 If the OBC is from price drops its refundable and all you have to do is ask for it in cash at the purser's desk. You can get some cash back in the casino, but you have to gamble some too. If you are clearly just using it as a method to pull cash out of your account you will be cut off after the first couple of times you try it. One credit is from a price drop; and one is from a shareholders credit.
firefly333 Posted July 30, 2013 #4 Share Posted July 30, 2013 One credit is from a price drop; and one is from a shareholders credit. use the shareholders toward your tips, and that will pretty much take care of the nonrefundable OBC. Nonrefundable promotional OBC is always used up first.
rrraydon Posted July 31, 2013 #5 Share Posted July 31, 2013 If you have OBC from multiple resources, how are you able to specify which goes towards what?

You dont specify anything.. they just use the nonrefundable OBC first and then the refundable. sorry if I wasnt clear. I was trying to say probably not that much nonrefundable and tips would eat most or all of that up .. the rest is refundable and np.

firefly333 Posted July 31, 2013 #10 Share Posted July 31, 2013 Thanks, that answers my question. EVERYTHING that you charge to your onboard account comes off the OBC. It does not matter what it is, tips, gambling, drinks, jewelry. There is no difference unless you are gambling for cash. (which I did see onboard conquest last week). People playing craps were using real bills. Slots are different.
Fla Senior Posted July 31, 2013 #11 Share Posted July 31, 2013 I think on our last cruises, we could not use OBC for slots. Has this policy changed or was it never a policy? OBC came from future cruise certificate.
