eener91 Posted July 31, 2013 #1 Share Posted July 31, 2013 Hello, I am booked on Imagination 4 day cruise from Miami on November 11. I initially booked Early Saver but noticed a price drop when Carnival released Canadian Resident Rate. My travel agent applied this to our booking and since that time we have had 2 further price drops. Our final payment is due in approx 6 weeks and today the travel agent said that after final payment we are no longer eligible for price drops. I know this is not the case with Early Saver but I don't think our booking is under that anymore. We were happy with the original booking price so the price drops have been bonuses and it won't worry us if there are further price drops after final payment and we are not eligible but I just wanted to confirm if this is true or not because I don't want to miss out if we are eligible. Thank you

Thank you if you are initially booked under ES there is no way out of early saver so your TA is not correct. Try canceling your cruise now since it is before final payment and i bet CCL will charge you a $50 pp administrative fee and hold your money for a future cruise. They know every angle at CCL and there are no loopholes to get out of being ES even if you wanted to, which you don't. Bill
eener91 Posted July 31, 2013 Author #3 Share Posted July 31, 2013 Thanks Bill, After I posted I realised we initially actually booked under the Fall and Winter Sale. This may change things?

In that case your TA was 100% on the money.:) Enjoy your cruise.:) Bill

I booked under ES and have price matched to military a couple of times. I am a bit of a worrier and since our final payment date is come up (we are paid in full), I called Carnival to confirm I was still ES so I could still apply for price drops. I was told that once you are ES you are always ES. Makes me feel good to hear that from someone else too. Don't know why, but it does.

That's because people on CC are more knowledgeable about CCL's policies than some of their employees. Hope you get many more price drops.:) Bill
