So yeah, my wife and I are going on a carnival victory cruise on August 24th-29th western Caribbean. This is her first and my second. She is so excited and heard about Captain Night and has been looking for a dress as if she's going to a wedding....hahha! She's too cute. LOL ! I can't wait for the cruise!!! My first cruise was 8 years ago so this feels like a new experience to me again.

I feel your pain my friend. You do know that new dress also comes with;

new shoes

a new purse

new jewelry that goes with that new dress and that new dress only

new lingerie - you can't dress up for a special evening than be expected to slip into just the old flannels afterwards!

And finally a visit from the bill collector:eek:

Don't you just love cruising?:D

Half the fun of a cruise is the shopping and planning before!! Love all the fun of finding the "perfect" outfit for EVERY day on board. I even stress on what to wear to board since I know they will be taking pictures as we board.

Let the shopping fun begin!!;)

Good for her! She is going to have so much fun..:). I'm sure she wants to look pretty for you and yes by all means, dress up for her!:) I love showing my husband off in his tux or dress blues!;)

I've got another five day cruise coming up soon and I have have three new evening gowns and two new cocktail dresses! We won't even talk about the shoes, evening bags, etc.:D

Have her come over to the Fashion Board and join the ladies on this thread. Such a nice group of ladies and we have such fun discussing our cruise fashions. She will enjoy this group.

Hope you both have a wonderful time on your cruise.

Remember this is Carnival. People show up in T-Shirts, polo shirts, jeans, dress pants and clothes that you would were to an office. Very few wear a Tux or even a suit. A pair of pants and a shirt work for a Carnival cruise.

You do not need to over dress. As long as you look ok Carnival lets you into the dining room.

Relax and Enjoy life.

I have been on 5 cruises and have never dressed up on captains night and regret it. My husband and I are going on our 6th in March 2014 and plan on decking it out in atire this time. I cannot wait to find the perfect dress. Let her go all out, it makes us girls feel like like we are royalty for one night. Go for it!!! Have fun.
