jeansaussie1 Posted August 4, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 4, 2013 The airline has changed my cruise flights 3 times. I am now scheduled to land at Newark at 5:30am on a Sunday. I would like to take Amtrack to Connecticut. Does any one know how crowded the train is usually? I don't want to buy my ticket ahead of time incase they change my flight again. But don't want to be stranded at airport either. Thanks in advance!
1025cruise Posted August 4, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 4, 2013 I went through the Newark airport Amtrak station once. I don't recall there being a ticket person there. Just a kiosk. This was on a Friday morning.
Brighton Line Posted August 5, 2013 #3 Share Posted August 5, 2013 I went through the Newark airport Amtrak station once. I don't recall there being a ticket person there. Just a kiosk. This was on a Friday morning. There are no Amtrak personnel at the Newark Airport Station. Even if the train is crowded, you are 20 minutes from NYC where it will empty and you will have to wait for a crew change and NY originating passengers to board if it is a thru train. Most people stay on the train or platform. Only a few doors open (with train crew standing at them) when an Amtrak train stops at Newark airport to discourage NJ Transit passengers from boarding as the tickets are not crossed honored.
