There seem to be alot of threads about Luggage Tags in recent weeks. The color, along with the numbers on the tags help people identify your luggage when moving things on or off the ship. Bottom line - use color - it reduces the chances you luggage will be delayed in its delivery to your cabin.
Pete B Posted August 5, 2013 #3 Share Posted August 5, 2013 It probably helps the porters if they are. I know there is a big deck number printed on them but they are colour coded too. I forgot to order mine so I just printed in colour and laminated them and am gonna cable tie them to the bags. (on Splendour this Saturday) :D

pnutzlaw Posted August 5, 2013 #5 Share Posted August 5, 2013 For our upcoming sailing on the Explorer, we printed the luggage tags in color on cardstock and laminated them cheaply by placing clear packing tape on each side. The thick paper and tape actually make them pretty strong.

Clarea Posted August 5, 2013 #7 Share Posted August 5, 2013 Is this true? Just wondering- Thanks! :) Yes, you can tell the porters your stateroom number and they will create luggage tags for you.
edjny Posted August 5, 2013 #8 Share Posted August 5, 2013 I always print them on my laser printer in black/white. It must be OK because our luggage always finds it's way to our cabin door..... :)
FLACRUISER99 Posted August 5, 2013 #9 Share Posted August 5, 2013 Is this true? Just wondering- Thanks! :) True usually, but not in all situations. You're better off if you have them attached when you arrive at the ship
Rare brillohead Posted August 5, 2013 #10 Share Posted August 5, 2013 They do NOT have to be printed in color. The porters in most ports (all ports in my experience, but supposedly there are a few random ports where the porters do not have supplies with them) have a pocketful of tags with the elastic band, along with a Sharpie marker. For my recent NOS cruise, I showed the porter the last page of my SetSail, and he was able to copy the room number and make the mark designating which section of the ship I was in (for sorting purposes). He put tags on all our bags, I handed him $5, and our bags all showed up at our room.
