joepeka Posted August 6, 2013 #5 Share Posted August 6, 2013 It's probably easier to list the few CCL Caribbean/Mexico ports of call which ARE tendering ports: Grand Cayman, Belize, Cabo.... any others (I can't think of any off-hand)?

mas0764 Posted August 6, 2013 #8 Share Posted August 6, 2013 I don't mind a tender port or two. It's cool to have to ride in from the ship. Kinda exotic.

zqvol Posted August 6, 2013 #10 Share Posted August 6, 2013 Usually all of those are docked. Sometimes in high season, around Christmas, someone who shouldn't gets stuck tendering in St. Thomas, though usually it is Disney that draws the short stick. Jacob's Mom Posted August 7, 2013 Author #11 Share Posted August 7, 2013 Thanks!!! Normally I don't mind a tender but I'm in a walking boot and it will just be easier to be docked to get on/off!

AZbeachboy Posted August 8, 2013 #16 Share Posted August 8, 2013 Some times in St Thomas you will get a secondary dock in the industrial area that is a little ways from the main terminal. We have walked it, but if you are in a boot, it could be a tough walk. No sidewalks and lots of traffic.
cntrydncr1 Posted August 12, 2013 #17 Share Posted August 12, 2013 How do you know which dock in St Thomas?? I'll be on the Dream in November.
AZbeachboy Posted August 13, 2013 #18 Share Posted August 13, 2013 You may be better at finding out than we are. We never knew till the ship docked. We have been there four times. Once on HAL, twice on Carnival and once on Princess. I thought that maybe on Princess we would be at the downtown dock, but it never was. The same with Cozumel. The very first time we were there was on the old Tropical and we were in the tourist area downtown dock. Every other time we have been at the dock that is about two miles down. A2Mich Posted August 13, 2013 #19 Share Posted August 13, 2013 As for St Thomas, I'm not sure if it depends on number of ships in port or various cruise line contracts. I've only been to St Thomas 3 times, but have always docked at Havensight. I think the Behemoth of the Seas class of ships dock at Crown Bay, but don't know for sure what other ships regularly dock there. I would guess that most Carnival ships will dock at Havensight.
