I was excited to find it.. Ithink it was the first sea day, at lunchtime at the Lido Buffet. I still miss it at dinnertime though!

EZ4 Posted August 8, 2013 #31 Share Posted August 8, 2013 So if I've looked at the menus at the Zydeco Food Network once, I don't need to waste any time looking again? via Tapatalk 4 Beta.
Catrin Posted August 8, 2013 #32 Share Posted August 8, 2013 I also remember there was a time when everything was listed separately..... Appetizers SOUPS - usually two choices Salads - usually two or three choices Main Entree. Desserts There was no everyday menu, but it was known that you could order a steak any night of the week. I miss that appetizer more than anything else. JMHO.

oncruisecontrol Posted August 8, 2013 #36 Share Posted August 8, 2013 They might change out a couple of items every few years, but in the past 13 years I've only seen 2 major revamps of the menu. I think the menu has enough variety to let me have a different entree selection every night. I cruise 3 or 4 times a year and never feel bored with the menu. These kind of threads always surprise me. In my real life I have a meal plan that has about 15 dinners on it. I have steak, meatloaf, spahgetti, pork chops, beans and fried potatoes, eggplant parmessan, chicken with dumplings or dressing, ham steak, BBQ pork shoulder, .....My point is I often repeat meals a couple of times a month.....When I go to Olive Garden, I almost always get the Chicken Marsala....I like it, so I order it often.... And for breakfast what more could people want other than maybe some gravy for breakfast. They have eggs prepared anyway you want them, a wide variety of breakfast meats, pastries, fruit, hot and cold cereals, breads, yogurts, waffles........the only disappointment for me recently is the Brunch menu.....for more restrictive for both the breakfast and lunch items. You make valid points. I just wish they offered 100% stone ground whole grain bread, and not the euphemistic "wheat" bread that they try to pass off as "other than white bread". I also wish they offered steamed brown rice, and not just white rice. I also wish that the sliced cheeses on the buffet were not sliced so thinly (though I understand why they are) and I wish that they would offer crumbled bleu cheese and feta cheese at the salad bar in the Lido buffet. Then, I would be a happy camper. JMHO.

Guess they figured people would order less if items were grouped. Doesnt stop me from ordering multiples
beachbratt Posted August 8, 2013 #38 Share Posted August 8, 2013 I am vegetarian so they are only 2 options per night in the MDR for me. Indian vegetarian or the Today's menu. Freedom 2010 and Breeze 2013 both had the chilli rellenos and cheddar pot pie which I hated. I am kind hoping to see them fall off the menu. Bring back the spinach lasagna from the 90's! in April on the Breeze I had a vegetable lasagna it was very good
mzloolue Posted August 8, 2013 #39 Share Posted August 8, 2013 I don't think the ribs were ever on the every day menu. They used to be on the first night and they changed them to elegant night (which IS stupid). They did take the shrimp cocktail off the every day menu but they put it back on shortly after all the outrage. Not sure if the chateau briand was changed... I've never tried it. I don't know. I had stopped ordering chateau briand because it was yucky...like inedible. But I tried it again on Elation in May and it was wonderful. We spent a lot of time sitting out behind the lido and noticed waking through that the buffet food looked way better than in the past...if you get there as they are putting it out! In the past we have preferred eating in the dining room, but that trip we did the buffet several times and really enjoyed it. One of my best memories on that trip was staying on board in Cozumel and eating the buffet's French lunch menu outside. We had the place practically to ourselves and the food was excellent. I think they are using cheaper cuts of meat but have learned the best ways to marinate and tenderize it.
