To be clear- Suite gives you nothing?

I booked an aft suite thinking we got 24 hour butler service, dining in specialty restaurants and priority tendering and so on. I found out shortly after that I got nothing but a bigger room. LOL Shame on me for assuming Carnival was like other cruise lines. So I print out our boarding passes and it says priority. I assume that means embarking the first day, correct? Is there a different line we go in or what? Any info would be great. Thanks!

Thank you both. We have been sailing NCL since we started cruising but wanted to try one at our hometown port. Was either Carnival or RCC. RCC sounded nice but we have been to the ports they go to over and over so wanted to try something new. I admit I was shocked we got nothing with the suite but got over it pretty fast. The only bad day on a cruise is if the boat is going down. LOL

If you are already platinum and already get priority, then the answer for most of us is you get nothing with a suite, except a bath tub. Yep, I have seen people post that as the only perk.

On newer ships all the suites the bath tub has jets of some kind if you like that. Im a shower person.

I'm not large or out of shape but try getting out of the kiddy tub.

Do the actually have aft suites I always thought they were mid ship?

But nothing but more space and I feel that's a perk. That's why I rent a suite!

On the Pride and sister ships, the aft corner rooms are suites. On the Liberty, etc. they are not considered suites.

The priortity embarkation is a good perk, VIP rooms to wait if you arrive early. But, thats about it. But that corner cabin? Worth its weight in gold.... hope you enjoy it!

It's true that Carnvial suites do not come with all the bells and whistles as other line (like NCL) BUT....You will get a beautiful, huge room, huge bathroom with a FULL SIZE whirlpool tub and it (usually) cost ALOT less than other lines....

Personally, we don't need a butler and a concierge in addition to a room steward....(just more palms to grease).....and personally, I find the Carnival suites alot nicer than the NCL suite (especially the Vista Suites!)....

We book Carnival suites purely for the cabin (and the price!)

Two questions regarding suites on Fantasy. We have 5 cabins total, only one is a suite. Our bookings are linked. Will the rest of us be able to use the VIP embarkation line, or only the 2 people who are in the suite? Also, will the suite be ready early or same time as all other cabins? Since there are so few suites on Fantasy, I wondered if there are any extra perks.

We have been in a full suite on NCL twice, it was so nice, Cagney's for breakfast and lunch was the best perk, IMO.

We are platinum on Carnival. Our upcoming cruise on Carnival Miracle, we have a Vista suite. We know it is just an aft wrap balcony and nothing more but are so looking forward to it as we have never had one before.

We are very fortunate to cruise as much as we do and look forward to all of our cruises, even if they are inside cabins which are fine with us.

Many of our friends have never even been on a cruise.

We never take our cruises for granted and realize we are very fortunate to be able to cruise so often at this point in our lives.

My DD 13 has been on more cruises than her years on earth!

Go, enjoy your cruise with your family and don't think about what you don't get, think about what you DO get, the whole cruise experience and time with your loved ones. :)

We have booked suites on Carnival. They were all comfortable and roomy. You will get to board in the "priority" line but that's the only perk that comes with booking a suite. It's been a while since we cruised with Carnival, but I think the Platinum Diamond and FTTF used the same line as the suite guests.

Try MSC yacht club and you will have butler service among alot of other perks.

Only the people in the suite get VIP embark.

The suite will be ready at the same time as other cabins unless...the people in the suite are Platinum AND the ship has FTTF.

There are no extra perks with a suite...doesn't matter how many suites there are on the ship.

Take note: the other line named in a previous post also provides:

1. Room Service from ALL restaurants when they are open.

2. Priority to shows.

3. Expanded room service menu.

4. A restaurant for breakfast & lunch that is not the MDR or buffet.

5. Concierge can get you into specialty restaurants and shows, even if they are 'sold-out'.

This is what you pay extra for...:D

Yes the key phrase here is : What you pay extra for! I am surprised the OP didn't research more to start with then was surprised but we all do our booking of vacations different. I for one do not like the feeling of "someone hanging around" and someone do to my bidding so to speak. Other's really enjoy that. As a child we had someone that was paid to fix our meals, clean our house and as an adult I really like that I have the freedom to do it myself. Each to their own. Just know that with Carnival a suite means larger room, tub but no other amenities, other than early boarding if you're not platinum/diamond then it's nota perk. If you want this purchase a suite on RCI. Or I guess NCL. I just don't sail NCL any more just not the product for me.

I agree, breakfast and lunch at Cagney's was the best perk of an NCL suite...most of the 'other' perks were just a waste for us....

IMO, Carnival Vista suites are the best cabins to get....we LOVE the huge cabin, two separate rooms, the walk-in closet, vanity area and our own huge private balcony (and that whirlpool tub!)...We have one booked (again) in October on the Pride....

A Vista Suite will spoil you for life.....:D

If you compare cabins types that the op booked on the other lines you get nothing also, you need to book suites that are much, much more than an Aft type of suite on the other lines as you do not get all the same services. People are comparing apples to watermelons!
