bay1212 Posted August 10, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 10, 2013 My partner and I have finally agree'd to get married next year because of same sex marriage being allowed now in uk :D. My bf and I want to take a cruise for the honeymoon. We were just wondering what cruise lines are gay friendly but are also romantic? We would prefer a larger cruise line though with large ships as we enjoy that kind of atmosphere. We have both been on cruises before with our families but this time it is different. Money doesn't really matter but just want to know the best cruise line for gay people but also honeymooners :) Than you:p
Phxazzcruisers Posted August 11, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 11, 2013 We were married in Seattle last New Year and would definitely cast our vote for Azamara. It is not a large ship, they have 2 smaller ships but are very gay friendly and the food and service is beyond superior. We find them to be our cruise ship of choice. They are more expensive, but well worth it. Our 2nd choice is Celebrity. Same ownership, but larger and newer ships. Also excellent service and food. Congratulations and enjoy your honeymoon. Thanks:), we were thinking of celebrity but will check out Azamara too. We are quite young so are looking for something lively but romantic. Celebrity seem good for that, do you think NCL would be too relaxed etc?
AttilaTheFun Posted August 11, 2013 #4 Share Posted August 11, 2013 I love NCL, but would not choose it for a honeymoon/upscale cruise. It's a ton of fun, but more casual and party-hearty. I haven't sailed on Celebrity, but have heard great things and is probably a tiny bit younger than Princess, Cunard, Holland America, etc. In the upper-premium category is Azamara and Oceania. If food is important to you, Oceania would be a great choice, but I've heard both skew fairly old (not that there's anything wrong with that). If you wanted to go all the way to luxury, you could check out Regent, Crystal, Seabourn, and Silversea, which are more-or-less all-inclusive experiences. Luxury lines would skew older as well though, as the older demographic has the disposable income to spend on such an expensive cruise!
bigbenboys Posted August 11, 2013 #5 Share Posted August 11, 2013 I have not been on a cruise line yet that treat us any different. Celebrity is our favorite cruise line. So it comes down to ship and location. I would go with the Solstice class ships. They are newer and a little more grand. Where to cruise. That is up to you. But if your looking at the Caribbean you tend to get younger people on the shorter 7 day cruises. We love the 14 day cruise to Aruba. Mar 2014 it will be our 3rd time doing Southern Caribbean. We are in our early fifties. If your looking for something special. Sep 23, 2014 there is a cruise from Vancouver to Hawaii on the Solstice. You have a nonstop from LHR to Vancouver. Oct 5, 2014, there is a Hawaii to Sydney, Australia. You 2 can say you went round the world. Richard

If you want lively but romantic I would probably go for an S Class Celebrity Cruise. Again, we love Azamara, but it does tend to have a slightly older crowd.
