On Broad Credit

Read something on one of these broads but forgot which one :(

DH and I will be sailing on the Oasis September 28. We booked through a travel agent at the time Royal Caribbean was having a promotion. We received OBC and two vouchers to any specialty restaurant of our chose. My questions are : since I'm going to use ship credit cards I will received 2 points for every dollar I spend . But I will lose out on this cause of the OBC. I read somewhere where it is mention that I can go to customer service once on ship and ask for a cash out. Please does anyone have any advise? Does all ships give cash out because I have the same situation with my next sailing on the Carnival Breeze. Also is anyone or has anyone been offer the free vouchers to a specialty restaurant ? When and how do you received these vouchers? What do I do if I don't receive these vouchers? Trying for months but TA is not answering phone .

The best place for your research is the RCI board, here:

Every cruise line's rules for using OBC can be a little different. But I wouldn't expect to just cash out an OBC given by the cruise line. They usually demand you use it or lose it.

For your upcoming Carnival cruise, the Carnival board is here:

Have you considered refusing the OBC? Seriously, I don't see the problem here. The points you will lose are worth only a fraction of the OBC.

That is what I was thinking. Typically, a point is worth 1 penny. According to the OP, the credit card will give the OP two points, equal to two cents, for every dollar charged. If the OBC is worth $100, the OP would need to spend $5,000 to earn enough points to break even.
