Feelin' Nauti' Posted August 10, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 10, 2013 Lemonade is filled with sugar and iced tea has caffeine. 3 yr old should NEVER drink soda...;) Read that juices and milk are available for room service - Orange Juice - Grapefruit Juice - Tomato Juice - Apple Juice Milk - Skim Milk - Chocolate Milk Do they offer juice any where on the ship during the day or evening? Do we ask wait staff for it?
wrigley80 Posted August 10, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 10, 2013 Yes you can ask bar staff for orange, apple, cranberry, and pineapple juices. One thing you may want to consider is to bring on some juice in your carry-on. You are allowed a 12-pack (up to 20 ounce bottles or cans) per person but it has to be carried on
kapcruiser Posted August 10, 2013 #3 Share Posted August 10, 2013 The buffet during breakfast offers orange juice and a guave drink that was very good.
katiedidthat Posted August 10, 2013 #4 Share Posted August 10, 2013 Keep in mind too that juice outside of breakfast and room service isn't free so you should order it ahead of time from room service or plan to pay per glass.
DallasGuy75219 Posted August 10, 2013 #5 Share Posted August 10, 2013 Yes you can ask bar staff for orange, apple, cranberry, and pineapple juices. The bars do charge, however, for juices unless you've bought Bottomless Bubbles. If OP is concerned about sugary drinks, he/she should also be aware that all the "juices" in the lido deck dispensers at breakfast are juice cocktails (i.e., mostly sugar and water) rather than 100% juice. kellylw Posted August 10, 2013 #6 Share Posted August 10, 2013 We'll be bringing on the fruitables juice boxes for our almost three year old (as well as soy milk). Much less sugar than regular juice and convenient to have available when he's ready for it (usually the afternoon.)
morganboys Posted August 10, 2013 #7 Share Posted August 10, 2013 id say there wont be much choice on the ship that doesn't have sugar in it unless you lug juice boxes with you.

Ehpride Posted August 10, 2013 #9 Share Posted August 10, 2013 I would just fill a container withbjuice in the morning. You should be able to get milk at the lido buffett during lunch.

golfadj Posted August 11, 2013 #14 Share Posted August 11, 2013 You can get milk for your little one at any time on lido. After breakfast hours ask one of the staff and they will go get it for you.

We were on the Dream. Thank you for this! I have found these little portable soy milk contianers that are shelf stable. I'll be bringing some of them in chocolate regardless because my son loves them. I do the lower sugar juice (its just really watered down fruit and vegetable juice) to make up for the obscene amounts of sugar in the chocolate soy milk.

Feelin' Nauti' Posted August 11, 2013 Author #17 Share Posted August 11, 2013 To ALL who have responded... Big THANK YOU! Doesn't seem right that "children" are charged for juice when ordered from a wait staff during the day / night. To me, personally, it should be included in the fare. Thank you for the suggestion about packing juice boxes. Think that's the way to go...
RuthlessBoss Posted August 11, 2013 #18 Share Posted August 11, 2013 Does the juice from a carton really have less sugar or is it an assumption? Has anyone read the label? All juices have natural sugar and so does natural fruit itself. The amounts may seem low on the label, but what's listed is for a specified amount of juice and that is usually for a small quantity. I think you have a false sense of security in those juice boxes.

My DGD will be going on her first cruise with us :D and want to be sure what kind of drinks are available for her. With your comment, now I have to find a juice that isn't sugar-laden... or with artificial additions... Question - milk - is it served in milk containers, like the ones served in schools? Or is it served by the glass??? We got it by the glass in the MDR. Don't know what it came out of though. Is this child on a diet or something? There are 12g of sugar in a glass of milk. Milk is in containers, like in school. White milk was in a glass at MDR dinner, and I think chocolate, which my DD doesn't drink, was served in cartons. Just an FYI, the juice at the buffet at breakfast is extremely sweet. for DD we watered it down with 3/4 water and 1/4 juice and it was still very sweet, especially the guava combo.
