Time of the Muster Drill on Breakaway?

Hi,

I am trying to remember when the Muster drill is held on NCL.

We will be on Breakaway next month and I'm trying to plan the dining schedule for the first night.

I know we leave at 4, and I remember when we were on the same itinerary on Gem 2 years ago that it wasn't during sail away out of NYC. but I'm not remembering when it actually occurs. We usually just wing it, (Freestyle:D) but am prebooking the "must do's" on our list.

Thanks in advance.

The actual time can vary (but it will be before sailaway). Best to check your Freestyle Daily or the Safety Channel on TV once you board for the exact time for your particular sailing.

I am not sure but I would say about half and hour to an hour prior to leaving the pier. The rules as to how Muster Drills are done were changed last year in response to the Costa Concordia accident.

All my ncl cruises safety drill was held than we sailed away.. And if you miss it for any reason you will have a makeup date on the first sea day.. If you miss it they may politely ask you to get off at the first port

Actually rules set by SOLAS Convention haven't changed, the change was made by the companies themselves (by their associations, if I remember correctly) and since NCL already had the drill before sailing on all ships, on NCL nothing changed.
