Marfuz Posted August 11, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 11, 2013 Hi, I am trying to remember when the Muster drill is held on NCL. We will be on Breakaway next month and I'm trying to plan the dining schedule for the first night. I know we leave at 4, and I remember when we were on the same itinerary on Gem 2 years ago that it wasn't during sail away out of NYC. but I'm not remembering when it actually occurs. We usually just wing it, (Freestyle:D) but am prebooking the "must do's" on our list. Thanks in advance.
DevCruise Posted August 11, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 11, 2013 It will be just before sailing and nothing else will be open during that time due to the drill.
cruisendave Posted August 11, 2013 #3 Share Posted August 11, 2013 I have the Freestyle Daily right here for you. The drill on our July 28th sailing was for 3:30.

Best to check your Freestyle Daily or the Safety Channel on TV once you board for the exact time for your particular sailing.

The rules as to how Muster Drills are done were changed last year in response to the Costa Concordia accident.
vols_159 Posted August 11, 2013 #7 Share Posted August 11, 2013 All my ncl cruises safety drill was held than we sailed away.. And if you miss it for any reason you will have a makeup date on the first sea day.. If you miss it they may politely ask you to get off at the first port
Demonyte Posted August 11, 2013 #8 Share Posted August 11, 2013 The rules as to how Muster Drills are done were changed last year in response to the Costa Concordia accident. Actually rules set by SOLAS Convention haven't changed, the change was made by the companies themselves (by their associations, if I remember correctly) and since NCL already had the drill before sailing on all ships, on NCL nothing changed. garycarla Posted August 12, 2013 #9 Share Posted August 12, 2013 Muster drill will never interfere with dining. Ever.
rbrugler Posted August 12, 2013 #10 Share Posted August 12, 2013 It is held right after the ketchup but before the relish. I wish they had brown mustard though. It would make the drill so much tastier.
