How is Century?

I sailed her 15-Day round trip to Hawaii this Spring. It was a great cruise and the ship was in good condition. I am sure that the enhancements due in February will make her look as good as new. My cabin was comfortable and the service was excellent. The Crew is one of the best in the Celebrity Fleet. I had a slight leak and it was repaired before I returned from dinner.

We've just booked the CN's 9/26 pacific coastal from YVR to SAN. We were on her long ago -- 2002, I think. How is she now, condition-wise?

Booked SS through cat W.

Booking cat W Suite guarantee doesn't automatically assign you to category SS. There is one category of suite (category NS) that is below cat SS and is basically a standard size cabin and bathroom. I believe the only reason Celebrity calls it a suite is because it comes with Butler service. Personally, if I were traveling on Century and had my heart set on sailing in a suite, I'd avoid booking category W for fear of being assigned one of the NS "suites". At the very least, buyer beware.

Below are some links to recent conversations about Century's condition.

Hope you have a wonderful cruise. ;)

We had an NS suite on the Century and loved it. It was on the aft (1134) and as it was at the end, we could look round the corner and get an idea of what was coming up on that side.

OK so the interior was no bigger than a standard balcony cabin but the balcony itself was very deep and we found that we got the sun on the open part of it all day.:)

After your cruises on M and S class she will most likely be a disappointment. Did 25N on her maybe 2 yrs.ago. Pool is really small. Food probably poorest of all X ships I have done. Cafeteria tiny compared to current ships. Staff was great though. Only soft goods being updated in minor Winter drydock.

Sailed Century RT San Diego/Hawaii in February. Older, smaller, of course, but in good condition, and with the most friendly and forthcoming crew and senior staff we've encountered. (We're Elites several times over.) Weak on entertainment other than the theater, but, overall, we would surely recommend Century.

Just returned from Alaska last week. Found the food and service fabulous. The staff were wonderful. She's more like a liner, similar to the QE2 before retirement. We've sailed on all the Solstice Class ships, so there's no glitz here, but would not hesitate to sail her again.

We all have different opinions.....I have sailed Century 6 times and

in between sailed on both M class and S class ships. I always look

forward to sailing her...doesn't matter what other ships I have been

on and will be back on Century again in February:) So, I guess

disappointment depends on the individual and what they are looking

for. Century never disappoints me:)

We have had several cruises on the Century - as well as the Millennium, Infinity, Solstice, etc. The Century is probably our favorite ... the crew has always been awesome and the ship's size is perfect for getting to meet fellow cruisers. The officers on the Century are probably the most accessible of any X ship ... always seen around ship chatting with passengers. Sure there are other larger, newer, more beautiful ships ... it's a shame that the Century is the last, one and only in her class. :(
