pompeii Posted August 12, 2013 #1 Share Posted August 12, 2013 Has anyone ever stayed in any of the obstructed forward cabins on the Lido deck on the Caribbean Princess? They look, well, kind of odd because they look out over the bow of the ship but maybe they are really cool. Does anyone have first hand experience in one of these cabins? eandj Posted August 12, 2013 #2 Share Posted August 12, 2013 No experience with, but here is the view. This site is great for choosing a "good" obstructed cabin for all the ships.. https://sites.google.com/site/caribbeanemeralddeck/home/cabins-101-104-lido-deck
bonniejk Posted August 12, 2013 #3 Share Posted August 12, 2013 We were in L104 on the Carribean (I think that was the ship) We loved the cabin, great views, a little extra space and great layout. If I remember correctly though, the treadmills were right above our cabin! Even though we loved the cabin, the nosie was just too much,, so we moved. I hated to leave the cabin, but the relaxation/nap factor took over. I carefully check now to see what is above our cabin.

From the deck plans, it does look like the treadmills are directly above. Too bad! Eandj, thanks for the link. I am very familiar with that site - I wouldn't book an obstructed view without looking at it first! It is a fantastic resource!
Mrs Booboo Posted August 13, 2013 #5 Share Posted August 13, 2013 We had L104 on our June cruise. We loved this room. This is one of the cabins right next to the “secret” doors that lead out to the deck that is directly below the bridge. Some reviews I had read said this was a horrible cabin to have because it is directly below the fitness center, and the thumping of the treadmills was a real problem. We didn’t really think so, probably because we were up almost every day before the fitness center opened. We only heard it a couple of times in the late afternoon after getting back on the boat, but if you didn’t know you were below the fitness center, you might just think it was the boat making noise – it was fairly muffled. I wouldn’t hesitate to book it again – it was very quiet back in our little corner (no people standing in the halls talking or kids running past) and we could pop out onto the deck just about any time. There were a couple of times when they locked the doors to the deck because it was just too windy to be out there.

eandj Posted August 13, 2013 #7 Share Posted August 13, 2013 We couldn't choose a stateroom underneath the fitness room area. The serious folks like to get up early and get their workout done before breakfast. We enjoy our sleep, so this would be waay to annoying for us. But if you are an early riser and don't need a nap or quiet time especially on sea days, then you would be okay. I think this would be worse then being under the buffet areas.
