Combining Points RCI-Celebrity

Recommended Posts

Not sure about this, but can you combine points from RCI & Celebrity cruises? Not even sure if I asked this right?? LOL :D (Crown & Anchor/Captains Club).

No, points cannot be combined. They have reciprocal recognition of loyalty levels, but the points don't transfer.

No, you can't combine points. However if you are at least Platinum Status with RCI or at least Select Status with Celebrity the other line will grant you equivalent status if you have not yet reached such status with the other line (i.e. if you are Platinum with RCI but have not yet sailed Celebrity, Celebrity will grant you Select status).

Can't do it now.... But, who knows what the future will hold. I have sent letters to RCL requesting that all the brands in RCL have a common points reward system. It works great for hotel brands and it would do just as well with RCL. Everytime, so far, I get the response that it is not planned as of now......

But, I was reading the Celebrity board and there are posts about rumors there of changes to their points system will soon be happening. Maybe there will be a common system in the future....

Perhaps someone can clarify; Does the reciprocity transfer *once*, when you set up the second loyalty program, or does the reciprocity get reevaluated every time you sail with the "other line"? For example,

Joe is C&A Platinum. He enrolls in Captain's Club because he's taking his first Celebrity cruise, and they award him Select status and at the end he has one cruise credit in C'sC. (I'm clear on this point -- it's essentially the same as the familymemeber grandfathering when someone turns 18.)

However, if Joe then goes on many more RCCL cruises and has gotten his Diamond pin, and books a second Celebrity cruise, does his C'sC status get updated to Elite for the second Celebrity cruise (thus reevaluated) leaving him at the end with Elite status and 2 cruise credits, or does he remain at Select because he already has a C'sC membership and the status has already been transferred?

If you are a Diamond Member on RCI, you automatically are an Elite Member in the Captains Club even if you've never taken a cruise on Celebrity. You must call and register for the Captain's Club prior to cruising.

If you are Elite on Celebrity, then you are automatically a Diamond Member on RCI, but you have to call C&A and register.

Right, I got that part originally. The what to do the first time you're ever on the other line is crystal clear. What happens after that first cruise?

You are treated on Celebrity on Day X as whatever you are on RC on Day X.

Yes - it "updates". (I never thought of it that way. ;))
